My name is Anthony I stepped into the caregiving field about 5 years ago as a HTS working with adults with developmental disabilities since then I've worked in every position in the field including management I love this field because at the end of the day you're truly giving back to people who are struggling to help them have a better life the reason I ended up stepping into the field though was I was in a very bad car accident a few years back and I remembered having some good caregivers and some bad caregivers then I was told that after being in a warehouse for about 4 years I was not able to do it due to the fact that I had to be on lighter duty so I wanted to do something wholesome something that would make an impact having a brother would developmental disabilities it inspired me to move forward as a caregiver no I'm not a CNA but I am a m,a,t medication administrative technician I'm certified in CPR first aid as well as safety care I performed every activity in the caregiving field such as maneuvering clients taking them to the bathroom feeding them through a peg tube cooking cleaning you name it

I've been in the medical field since 1990 ...I love what I do, it's very rewarding to me. I feel this is my calling. I have had serval clients and I remain friends with most of the families. It makes me proud when i can make a difference in person.

My personality traits that help me to be a great caregiver is , I am attentive with my clients. I take my job serious but love my clients to be happy and to feel safe. My attraction for caregiving started as a lil girl, my father was a diabetic. I always told him I was going to take care of him and I did. I naturally love helping others. What I enjoy most about caregiving is ,it gives a fulfillment to help others who are in need . You never know how you will end up one day. Help ease other people stress. A personal achievement was being able to take care of family members and clients with respect and love .I loved making them comfortable and they knew they could depend on me while being taken care of properly.

I became an EMT-IV 7 years ago, I enjoy the medical field and the sense of accomplishment it gives me after helping someone. I resigned from EMS because of the 48 and some 72 hour straight shifts. It was interfering with my family time. My father in law was in a horrible ma 8 years ago and it left him immobile, he was a diabetic, had a feeding tube and colostomy bag. After bringing him home from the MED of 6 months, I chose to help care for him. After his passing, I then decided I wished to use my knowledge and my love for helping others in a different atmosphere just as I did for him.

I'm very patient with any clients I serve. I treat them like I was to take care of my own family. Former CNA and I'm going to get recertify on September 7th to get my CNA back to current. Health Care is my passion because of the people who are in need of the upmost and professional care. Never been on the abuse registry. I have 16 years of the best professional experience. Alzheimer's care. Geriatric Care, hoyer lift experience. Long term care experience. Willing to transport and ride with clients to and from appointments. Run errands, pickup meds, light and heavy housekeeping, laundry. Whatever is required for any clients I will do. I will go above and beyond the call of duty.

The thing that helps me be a great caregiver is that I had a stroke and I was paralyzed from neck down and others helped me regain my strength in my time of need when I couldn't do anything for myself. What attracted me is the sickness that I experienced and was fighting for my life. The thing I enjoy most is helping others and making a difference in someone life.
