I am a retired Recreation Therapist with my Master degree and 37 years of paid experience working with seniors. I have much training working with Alzheimer’s dementia. I live locally, am very kind and patient, am reliable, honest, dependable and am hard working. I can provide many activities to increase their quality of life; I also have 4 years of experience working in their home, as I am also a Certified Home Health Aide; I assist them with ADL skills, assisting them getting out of bed, getting washed, getting dressed, toiletting, eating, doing light house work, cooking, driving to appts and dispense medications. I have been in the nursing field since I was 16 in one form or another. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse because I always enjoyed helping people and I love to talk, I never meet a stranger no matter where I go , I went to RN school in Indiana and worked on the medical surgical floor and worked in surgery for a few years. I was pretty blessed and was able to stay home with my children as they grew up, so I took time off from my career was a stay at home mother but always knew I would get involved in nursing again .As my children grew up I got involved in homecare which I love, I have met such wonderful families and clients along my journey and wouldn't trade my experience for anything.

Personal family and friends' experiences in life, health, illness, accidents and death. Forty six years of professional work in laboratory related health care mfg, sales, marketing and service. Caregiving experience with my wife's serious illnesses. I have been through cancer , surgery and accidents myself so I understand what patients may be experiencing. Married 55 years. Raised and educated a daughter, now an experienced nurse. Personal: won National bass fishing tournament; won National archery tournaments.

I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping those who are in need of help to meet their daily needs.What I like about being a caregiver is known that I am there not only to help with their daily needs but to also listen to them when all they need is someone to talk to. A personal achievement I am proud of is having the hands on experience working with the Dementia residents. It is a experience all of its own and one of the jobs that I really enjoyed the most. A little about myself. I grew up in Northern NY and now have moved to the Harriman TN area. Although a lot of people don't like change I really enjoy it. I really enjoy learning new things. I have worked in healthcare on and off for over 20 years. I had a few other jobs in the past outside of working in healthcare but I enjoy working with people who are in need. I like hands on training the most when it comes to jobs. I feel that its the best experience that I have had in the past when it comes to being out in the work place.

I have been a caregiver for over 5 years. I love helping people. It's my calling.
