I LOVE PEOPLE!!! I love caring for them! I spent a few years working as an EMT so I have Emergency Medical training as well as caregiver experience. I have been in college for the last 6 years and recently obtained my Masters Degree in Divinity (Biblical Study) and Christian Counseling. I am currently working on my PhD. I have been a licensed minister for 4 years and my last job was a Hospice Chaplain which I feel is my true calling in life. The reason being a caregiver also works for me is that I find that many of my clients are in the last years of their lives, and I enjoy being able to talk with them and help them and their family members with acceptance and ability to get things in order, such as working through their fears, problems with unforgiveness, and their spiritual condition. I don't preach to them, I listen and allow them to make their own decisions about their life. I may make suggestions, pray with them or for them if they desire, but never try to push my beliefs on them. I want to help them be at ease and comfortable in every area. I love the wisdom of the elderly and have learned so much from my clients. I have raised 6 daughters and 1 son, who is 15 now. I have 8 grandchildren that I adore. My husband and I have been married for 34 years. I guess that being a mom and a wife really puts my care giving experience at 34 years instead of just a few. I can provide excellent references and am trustworthy, dependable, cheerful, and compasionate. I became a caregiver, because I have a heart for people who requires help and it gives me great joy when I can do something to help them go through the activities of daily living and be able to feel like a normal person, have a smile on their face and to be able to relax knowing that there's someone there who really cares about them. I like being a caregiver, because it gives me the opportunity to do something for someone, to solve a problem and to bring happiness to someone. I completed my clinical in a hospice. Since then, I have had experiences working in private homes, Senior Living development and the hospital with many different types of patients :Alzheimers and Dementia patients, stroke victims who can hardly speak, elderly patients who just needed someone to take them to an activity or a doctor's appointment and I have always managed to establish a caring, but professional relationship with them and I've met and exceeded expectations may times in fulfilling the requirements of my job description. I am honest, can be trusted, know how to manage my time efficiently will always live up to the expectations of my job if I am given the opportunity. I am excited about this position and hope to meet you and your family soon.
