Hello my name is Olivia. I am a mother of 4 last 2 girls are attending Westlake High. I am bilingual, I enjoy being a caregiver i get to know my clients and help them to continue doing their hobbies they once use to do. I love to listen to stories they have endured while growing up. My clients I care for I take care of them as I would my own family. I was born & raised in San Marcos but moved to Kyle a couple months ago. My clients are mainly from Austin,Tx. My specific areas I have had my pleasure of working with my clients were Westlake/Rollingwood, Brookdale on Mesa Dr. / Baltierra / Querencia Assisted living/so many other places. I have been doing caregiving since I remember the first time my mom got diagnosed with being a diabetic I was about 15. So I learned about it by going with her to her appointments. So about 25+ yrs. of experience as I got older I cared for my mom then later my father til they past. I love taking care of others sometimes I wish there were more of me to help others. I have done it all from tube feeding to hoyer lift, Companion to bed bound. I do have a pharmacy tech. trainee certificate. If any more questions please do ask. I was 15 years old and just started my freshman year of high school when I was placed in a class called Intergenerational Studies. For 2 hours each day I was taken to the nursing home called Golden Years there in Elgin, Tx. I started off just getting residents from their rooms to come and do activities with me. But it wasn't long and I was working side by side with CNAs, RNs, and at one point the DON had me shadow her for 2 weeks. I just got really interested and a few years after graduation and having my son, I pursued a CNA certification and was assigned the hospice hall and the "lockdown unit" which was occupied by the more violent patients and those with conditions such as Alzheimer's and/or parkinson's, as well as those with behavioral health conditions. I honestly just fell in love with everything about caring for the elderly. Even the hard and very emotional side of the care I provide is something I wouldn't want to stop doing. I would love to get my CNA back but just haven't attempted to do so since my husband passed in 2011. Since my high school days I have worked with all ages of people, from a 2 year old little princess to a 98 year old gentleman I referred to as Fred Astaire due to them looking like twins. He loved it and would smile so big when I walked in every day; and every day he would say "Good morning Ms. Judy (Garland). You feel like dancing the day away?" It's things like that for which I love my work. Please feel free to ask anything, I would love to tell everything now but there is just so much I've been blessed to have experienced with so many different people I'd never be done.

I've worked in assisted living facilities, memory care and in home care, helping the clients with activities of daily living, light housekeeping, companionship, medication prompting, transportation, errands / shopping. I became a part-time caregiver years ago when we discovered my dad had dementia in the 90s. I have always been a caregiver in my family . My background is in finance. Kids got to college and I decided I'd do what was in my heart! Love being a companion and helpful Guide when I'm needed in a shopping, cooking, housekeeping and overall balancing act for someone who just needs some assistance.

My father was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. It was my responsibility to be the sole caregiver for him for 3 months. My partner of 24 years was diagnosed with renal failure and I was his caregiver for 5 years of dialysis and hospitalization. I did home dialysis with a solution and later did blood dialysis at home. I did his daily pills, insulin injection, and all the standard household duties in our home.

Working in a cancer hospital my whole career, I am very good at taking care of and anticipating the needs of my clients, but also filling the void of loneliness that many of the elderly/ill clients experience.
