My entire life, people have been drawn to my light, loving energy, compassion and sense of humor. Most often I have heard that my presence speaks volumes, I'm a ray of sunshine and an earth angel. I feel our elders are a treasure and should receive the help and support they deserve. After decades working in a corporate setting I decided to leave and pursue a more heart-centered career. I had been drawn for years to the idea of working with elders and those in hospice and once I started training I knew I had found my life purpose. Regardless of age, I enjoy being a caregiver! I love knowing that I make a difference in peoples lives through my work, volunteering and my 'being of service' way of being. I have many personal achievements that I'm proud of, but the one that touches my heart the most is that I allowed myself the gift of time and self-reflection to step into my life purpose, being of service in elder care, end of life care and other related areas that bring together all of my education, gifts and life experiences. My experience is both personal and professional. I have a Masters in Healthcare Administration, I was a Quality Director for a rural clinic, a first responder at a local Volunteer Fire Department, and I cared for my Mother and Brother with neurological disorders for more than six years. For me creating a safe and engaging environment was crucial to improve their respective living environments. Additionally, knowing the healthcare system, and being an advocate for their healthcare needs was critical to minimize confusion and improve their overall care. As a versed mechanic and handyman, I made their living environments safe with hold bars and special care devices, minimizing fall hazards. Additionally, traveling out of the house is essential in maintaining a level of freedom from confinement, and we would go out regularly to do errands, go to DR. appointments and do external activities. Cooking was a favorite for both, as I would cook their favorites usually in large quantities, so they had packaged meals that they could pop in the microwave. As I approach my early 60s, I have been very fortunate and desire to continue helping and caring for others. Helping to organize and manage small elements can make the difference in just getting along or feeling like a valued member of society.

I have been doing in home senior care for 2+ years. With a local company. I care for my Mother on all post-op situations. I also give her support care weekly. I have just completed the AR CNA course testing out at: 100%+5 written, and 99% clinical. I will test with the state soon. I am out going.l, Self- motivated, and am a stickler for the rules and proceedires. I am most proud of my ability to connect with and advocate for residents/clients.

I have a passion for helping others. I have worked in the medical feild since 2005. I have a full time job now just looking for some extra spend cash. I have one daughter who is 13 and my pride and joy.

I became a caregiver to my sister in Los Angeles, CA, who had cancer in 2015. After she passed away, I knew that this was my calling. I was told by the staff at Cedar Saini that they appreciated my help while I was there looking after my sister. The staff acknowledged my patience and compassion towards other patients also. I earned my CNA and worked in a nursing home as well as providing in home care for others who were like my sister. My life changed, as I knew there was no better way for me to contribute to others by helping them daily. I enjoyed their company and looked forward to making a difference!

I have empathy,sympathy and compassion for people that needs physical,emotional and mental help.Caring for 25 years and still love what i do.
