I Don't have a very positive and optimistic personality. My name is shorter then my be nickname; while is, Joyful (a high school friend gave me that name. So, yes... LOL, I'm very Joyful with a smile on my face). I was blessed to be a stay-at-home mother of three for 15 years, and then started getting back into the workforce. Family is the most important thing to me and love hanging out with family. I dance since the age of three years old, all the way up until I had my first two children, and I was an assistant dance instructor for about 10+ years. Back in 2009 to 2010 I worked as a water therapy assistant and water exercise instructor in Indianapolis, IN. I love to swim, go on walks/hikes, horseback riding, ride bikes, tennis, volleyball, travel, and many other things as well. I love to helping others, great multi-tasked, and have great problem solving skills. I am a very creative person and I am a visual artist as well (I'm able to draw anything I see)... so, I have a creative eye, love working on arts and crafts, puzzles, games, photography, interior decorating, and love working with pretty much all different kinds of mediums. I've been a HHA/CNA (with CPR training and Blood-borne Pathogens that I acquired during my HHA Diploma classes with A-1 Academy) for a few years now, and I have specialized with the mentally challenged and disabled as well. I also worked with AmeriCrops. right out of high school while attending college full time. I worked as a 1st and 2nd grader tutor at IPS schools, and assisted with aftercare programs, assisted with teen night every Friday night, was a Summer Counselor, and a student Dance Instructor to assist with hours for AmeriCrops. (It was Volunteer work with a one-year contract and salary position in Indianapolis, IN). I'm always a good friend, great helper with great integrity, dependable, and reliable.

I have been a caregiver for many years. I have helped those recover from surgery (hip, back, brain) and those with MS, cancer recovery, Parkinson's, paralyzed and many other conditions. I am an excellent cook and live a healthy lifestyle. Nutrition is an essential part of healing the mind, body and soul. I enjoy cards, board games, travel, singing, dancing, the theater, musicals, farms, cooking, walks and conversations.

I understand completely as I cared exclusively for my father for 5 years with congestive heart failure, diabetes, and strokes. I don't just do care giving I am a born Caregiver. Everybody deserves respect and compassion when facing life's challenging obstacles. I also have had medical challenges I have had to overcome and understand how important it is to be positive and stress free and not to focus on what you can't do but accentuate what you can. My clients are very happy with me and would personally ask for me to come take care of them. I even had one gentleman who was very shy about bed bath cracking up. I love and care for each individual as my own, and want them to feel the best they can in a comfortable atmosphere. I cared for a lady who started having brain surgery at 20 and she was in her 70's when I cared for her. She also was difficult to understand but with patients I learned to communicate with her very well. I have cared for Alzheimer, Stroke, Cancer, Bed and Wheel Chair bound, and much more...... ALSO: I am very organized, great on cleaning, laundry and cooking: GOOD FOOD not junk. I also do not smoke, or take any medications. I love to listen & learn from elderly people. They have so much wisdom & have lived interesting lives. I love to listen to their experiences. Once I had my back injury ( as an x-ray tech in 2010) I could no longer work 10-12 hr. shifts so I looked for a second career. A friend was doing Home Health Care for a Ms. Helen over the Christmas season & needed time off to be with her family. I was to fill in for 10 days but ended up staying for 4 years until I moved to Florida. I love working 1 on 1 with a person & their family. It is a joy to see them make little improvements along the way or just a big smile or thank you for making their favorite food or meal. My personal achievement is knowing I give 100% to my client & treat them like a family member. My clients have been both females & males. I treat them the same as I would treat my Mom or Dad. I have taken additional classes & have experience with Dementia, Alzheimer & Parkinson clients. Each person is unique in their own way, a real person with feelings & emotions.
