I understand completely as I cared exclusively for my father for 5 years with congestive heart failure, diabetes, and strokes. I don't just do care giving I am a born Caregiver. Everybody deserves respect and compassion when facing life's challenging obstacles. I also have had medical challenges I have had to overcome and understand how important it is to be positive and stress free and not to focus on what you can't do but accentuate what you can. Hello. My name is Nelida I was born and raised in Peru, but moved to America in 2005. I'm married and have two teens (15 and 14 yo). Back in 2005 I volunteered for six month in the activities department at an assisted living facility in NJ. Since 2018 I've been working with seniors in the comfort of their own homes. Taking care of the elderly brings me joy. I love making them laugh, it makes me happy, I also enjoy listening to their stories when they were younger, etc. I'm here to help and I will take care and treat your love ones with respect and compassion like they deserve.

I am considered a great caregiver because of my passion to genuinely care for those in need. Most of my clients & their family members want me with them everyday. I am loyal & I treat people how I'd like to be treated! I am thorough with my job duties, I am observant towards my client & any changes they may be experiencing, I have great work ethic. I didn't realize I ever wanted to be a Caregiver at 1st, even though I have several family members in the medical field, I always took classes involving computers & courses pertaining to business. One of my best friends was an LPN & she said you would be a good nurse, take the CNA class, get your foot in the door & if you like it go further. Eventually (in 2009) I took the CNA & HHA class, I passed the stated board on the 1st try, got a job at a nursing home 2 weeks after passing the test. I will be honest, I did not like being a CNA at a nursing home & I never wanted to be a nurse, I worked at a nursing home for almost 2 yrs & then I said let me try Home Hlth, & that was when I knew this is what I was destined to do. I was only working part time on weekends as a Home Hlth Aide (I was working in an office during the week), but several clients & their families wanted me full time so I contemplated for some time & in the beginning of 2017 I made the BEST decision ever workwise to become a full time Home Hlth Aide. I love being an asset to the clients & their families, it's not just a job, it's my passion. I love providing 1 on 1 care. The best feeling in the world is when the family & the client tells you I don't know what I'd do if you haven't came into our lives, or when they say don't leave me, you can stay.
