I am going on my third year of college, and my third college as well. I am finishing up my surgical nursing degree at Marion Technical College with a Surgical Technician certification and a phlebotomy certification as well. I have spent time in caring for my grandmother while she was in and out of the hospital, and I will provide compassionate care to those who need. My job as a future nurse is to provide comfort and love to patients varying different health conditions. My ideal job profession in the future is to work in hospice as well. When I was younger, I had a heart disease and my life-long goal is to give back to nurses and patients with 110% passionate and sympathetic care.

I became a caregiver because my mother was a nurse. She did home health care for years and she always talked about how much she loved it. When I started into this field it was in hospice care and I loved it. I loved being there with families and helping them through the very difficult times. I always spent more time than required so I could ensure that things were the best they could be considering the situation. I tend to be a fairly quite person at first but become chattery once I feel comfortable. I have always been that way but I have become better with age. I love helping people. And spending time just talking if that's all they would like.

I am great at everything i do. Very out going and i have a deep care for other's. Nursing is not about the rate of pay, I believe it is about compassion for other's . I love what I do. And to be apart of someones life and provide exceptional care. I am a mother of 3 , hard working and very friendly. At every care position i have held i have received multiple rewards and recognition from the care I give. I do not feel inadequate in any aspect of my life, training or my abilities as a caregiver/ nurse.

Being a caregiver has been very rewarding in knowing I am able to make others feel good in their daily lives with assistance of daily living. They feel secure which makes me feel good and proud to assist. I have alot of compassion and heart for anyone.

I've been working as a nursing assistant since 1982. Now with my family grown and on their own I've decided to go back to school for an RN degree. I haven't started school yet but am looking for a flexible schedule so I can go back. I've worked over the years in many local nursing homes and have enjoyed the residents and their families. I've been fortunate to work with many great aides and nurses who have had knowledge to give and shown how to multi task as necessary. I've worked on 2nd and 3rd shifts primarily and would like to work on 3rd shift. This is how I percieve my position: People come in all shapes, colors and sizes, they all are in need of loving care, a warm smile and someone to talk to, they need comfort, a clean invironment, family and a warm meal. These I would want for myself or my own family and they are necessary for peace of mind. I've seen all kinds of problems great and small but what I've noticed about most folks is that they just want to know someone cares about them. That's were nursing assistants come in to fill the gaps between doctors, nurses and family.

I am a very patient, outgoing, positive person. My grandmother raised me so I have a special place in my heart for the elderly. All of my patients are treated as I would treat my grandmother; FAMILY. I love being a caregiver because being able to help someone live as close to a normal life as they can, warms my heart. Leaving them with a smile on their face at the end of the day is what keeps me going. A personal achievement I am most proud of is having my two children. They are my entire universe and keep me motivated each and everyday.

I am a very caring person I have been doing healthcare for over 25 years I have also worked with hospice clients I'm patient loving and caring I will go that extra mile to do my best to make a client feel safe and comfortable. I'm looking too start a job after Christmas as I travel out of town at Christmas time. I'm very dependable and consistent all I ask is for the family members of a client to do the same.
