I love to help others!!For 28 years it has brought me joy to know that I do something everyday that puts a smile on an individuals face. I have been an emergency technician for the past 26 years. I took care of a vast array of patients including many who were in critical condition. I recently left the ER to be the caretaker for a husband and wife. I am responsible for bathing, cooking, grocery shopping, medication distribution, and household cleaning. Its a joy being able to help keep them out of a nursing home. The wife has end stage COPD and the husband has Parkinsons. I am especially proud that because of my efforts they are still living at home. The relationship I have built with them has been well worth it too. The husband has even given me the nickname Christmas because he looks forward to seeing me every morning.

If I can make them smile & laugh then I know I'm doing my job because some of my clients don't have much family or friends & they get very lonely & depressed. Raised by my grandmother, I developed the passion of caring for the elderly at a very young age. I worked closely with my grandmother and grandaunts with their daily activities. While in high school, I applied for summer jobs as a caregiver with companies such as home instead senior center and act agency. I enjoyed being around the elderly and providing assistance with daily living. I enjoy the knowledge I gained from interacting. With them on all levels and the stories I was told about life in general. I have been blessed to be in this field for over 10 years and have applied so much of what was passed on by my clients to various areas of life. I am currently a bachelors and masters degree holder in health education and I still find myself attracted to the field of home health and working with the elderly. From 2012 to 2015 , I was blessed to work in a live-in case with a lovely lady who recently passed away in March of 2015. Working with my client for three years, I lived with her and viewed her as more than just a client. She took the role of my late grandmother and I cared for her deeply.
