I became a CNA in 1997 when my aunt was in a nursing home. I saw all the folks that needed love and care and thought I would give it a try. Well 2014 I am still a caregiver and can not imagine doing anything else. I have worked in Long Term Care, Home Health Agencies , Group Homes and private duty. My favorite being private duty with one on one care. I love helping people with their everyday needs and try to put some spice in their life by taking them out or offering fun activities in the home. I am willing to travel away from home, currently all my clients are in Centre County.

I give quality care to my clients. I'm always on time, never late. Very reliable. Been a CNA for 26 yrs. Because we all belong to God, and he wanted me to take care of his people. I like being a caregiver because i'm helping others that need help that can't help themselves much anymore, and they need someone there to assist them with the things they can't do anymore like they used to. My personal acievement that i'm proud of is that i've been a CNA for 26 yrs helping others for a long time now. I'm very proud of that accomplishment.

I want to be a care giver because I just spent the past six months taking care of my father who has since passed on, I enjoyed spending time with him even though in the end he really didn't remember that I was his daughter anymore. I love helping others, in a way I think it helps to fill a void in ones life. I think that Geriatrics is my specialty I enjoy it because the clients have so much wisdom to share. I like to think I will help to improve their quality of life and ease some suffering. An employer should hire me because I know you need staff who can show true compassion, who are good with elder clients and who will make sure that the client has all that they need before my shift ends and things are left tidy. I really enjoy working with all different types of people, and helping them stay as independent as they can be. It’s really important to me to be polite and friendly, when I worked in the retail field I tried to get every customer to smile before they left my store! It has been a while since I had to take care of another person be sides myself, my youngest child is 27 years old , but I don’t think you lose the passion to please the others and make sure they always get the care they need– I haven’t.

I have been an active CNA for over 20 years. Current CNA certificate, CPR certified, including Alzheimer's experience and training, current TB and Crimminal Background check. Most of my experience has been geriatric/nursing homes, however, I have home care experience hospice experience and experience with patiens who have trachs and vents in a subacute facility and home.
