As a young girl growing up I always felt strong about studying in the nursing field to advance in my career. I'm flexible, reliable, along with punctual. Being the oldest of 4 children I have grown fast with caring with my siblings being the oldest taught me responsibilities of caring for many but in the last 7 years I have learned to care for my father thru different medical conditions such as back surgeries and recovery , physical therapy , cancer treatment like chemo and radiation.Also taking to multiple doctors appointments,running errands like grocery shopping and cooking , laundry and cleaning. It's important as being a caregiver you meet the needs of the patient as well as supporting them thru their time of needs. I enjoy caring for people and making them smile meeting and connecting with people

Hello, First I'd like to share a few things about my experiences as a CNA/caregiver. I have always been a nurturing person first as a child and continuing through adulthood, It brings me great pleasure to help everyone I can. I started my career in 1993 by attending a State licensed class and being state certified to work as such. I have continued my education for 28 years now and I am told I bring great skill set to many homes and individuals. I have worked as a CNA in Hospitals, Home Health, Physical Rehabilitation Centers, Nursing Homes and Private Duty Requests. I enjoy them all. I've worked with Hospice,Alzheimer's, dementia, diabetes, strokes, obesity, bed bound clients such a paraplegic and quadriplegic, ALS clients, PTSD clients, schizophrenia clients, post surgical and more. I offer help with ADLs, showers, bed baths, exercise, meal preparation, vital sign checks, medication reminders, doctor appointments, and more.

What makes me a great care giver is that l have a heart and desire to take care of people. It's been apart of my Life from Birth the desire and drive helping others with life everyday Challenge. And what's l enjoy about being a caregiver is seeing the smile on someone else's face that l've help to assist with everyday Life Challenges, And my personal Achievement is to do my best at making someone else's day less of a hassle.

What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver? I am a compassionate, kind, loving, forgiving and understands individuals who are not feeling well, bed ridden or have lost most of their ability to move around, think or do the things they once enjoyed. I have learned to respond and not react to their change in character. Recognizing that it is the pain they are experiencing that brings about change in behaviors. This can help heal a lot of misunderstanding. What attracted you to being a care giver? My mother and her doctor(s), as well as working as a Medical Assistant caring for patients. I was attracted to caregiving growing up while watching my mother in and out of hospitals and her struggle with her health whihc affected her mentally, emotionally and physically. I was able to care for her during her illness. What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Knowing I have the opportunity to do the best I can to bring maybe a smile, a laugh, a hug, or the joy of conversations with those who need it the most and knowing that everything I do, say or think matters to that individual. This makes all difference. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? My personal achievement is that I most proud of is the opportunity that I was able to help both my parents through their illnesses and terminal ill duration. My time with them is priceless, it wasn't easy but it made me a better person.

I have been a Licensed Vocational Nurse for 4 years. I was born and raised in Houston tx, along with my family. I have worked with pediatric to geriatric patients in a home health care setting as well as a clinical setting. I love working with people of all ages and the joy I bring to my families. I am a very caring and energetic person whom love to help people.
