What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver? I am a compassionate, kind, loving, forgiving and understands individuals who are not feeling well, bed ridden or have lost most of their ability to move around, think or do the things they once enjoyed. I have learned to respond and not react to their change in character. Recognizing that it is the pain they are experiencing that brings about change in behaviors. This can help heal a lot of misunderstanding. What attracted you to being a care giver? My mother and her doctor(s), as well as working as a Medical Assistant caring for patients. I was attracted to caregiving growing up while watching my mother in and out of hospitals and her struggle with her health whihc affected her mentally, emotionally and physically. I was able to care for her during her illness. What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Knowing I have the opportunity to do the best I can to bring maybe a smile, a laugh, a hug, or the joy of conversations with those who need it the most and knowing that everything I do, say or think matters to that individual. This makes all difference. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? My personal achievement is that I most proud of is the opportunity that I was able to help both my parents through their illnesses and terminal ill duration. My time with them is priceless, it wasn't easy but it made me a better person.

Hello I'm Doris single mother of 3 lovely girls. I've been in the healthcare field for about 16 years I started off in home healthcare went on to get my Medical Assistant Degree in 2008. Afterwards I worked in multiple Doctors offices. Until I got my Cna degree in 2015 where I went on to work in the hospital on the acute Med Surge floor for about 6 months and left to do phlebotomy. Now I'm back doing home health care. I think that that I would be a great caregiver because I have always had a caring heart, I've always love to help people and make them feel better. I really don't know what attracted me to being a caregiver I've just always love being around older people and helping them and being there for them when they need it the most. I love sitting and talking to older people hearing their stories and the wisdom that they bring. I am a proud mother, I am also proud to have a caring heart even though it gets hurt sometimes. I'm proud that I am so full of joy and compassion because it helps me to help people around me and people that I meet. I am fully vaccinated.

Just because you are living with this crazy disease that doesn't mean you can't live a normal life. When I walk into a family's homes. I walk in with a positive attitude with a big smile on my face to ease the pain of all the troubles they are going through right now. I have worked in private homes, group homes, etc. My desire is for excellence, quality and most importantly "LIFE", and to provide individualized care to each of my clients with the utmost dignity and respect.
