I as a caregiver will let the patient know that I care about the person and want to do what I can to help my patient. Patience is the key to being a great caregiver.

I'm a very easy going person, I've been a CNA over 20 plus years. I treat my clients as though we're family or the way I want my mother to be treated. What attracted my to caregiving, was having compassion for others. I most enjoy about caregiving is getting to know my clients and/or their family. My personal achievement is loving the care I give and knowing I'm doing my best.

I was a C.N.A for 25 years, in home caregiver for 5 years plus. In my opinion I am one of the best caregivers. I am patient, have compassion, honest and work really hard at making my client happy and healthy as possible. I have never had a complaint from a client or their families. While working in nursing homes never a complaint from the nursing staff. I have a big heart and believe our elderly need to be loved and taken care of. I have assisted patients with all aspects of daily care, including dressing/undressing, checking vital signs, bathing, personal hygiene, transferring to and from bed, skin care and various other duties. I have administered oral and IV medication as prescribed by an attending physician on a daily basis. I have maintained records of patient care, condition, progress, and problems, in order to report and discuss observations with family members and physicians. I accompany clients to doctors' offices and on other trips outside the home, providing transportation, assistance and companionship. I maintained sterile fields, application of dressings to a stage 4 decubitus ulcer. I assisted patients with basic activities of daily living, including changing of bed linens, washing laundry, preparing nutritious meals and doing basic housekeeping. My love and passion is in direct patient care (one-on-one). I'm amazing in what I do.

I have always been a people person and enjoyed helping others. It wasn't tell after my mother became ill and I was caring for her.
