Hello, I'm Jennafer. I previously worked for a VA Medical Center as a nurses aid. I loved my job, unfortunately I moved and it was too far in distance. I am CPR certified, and have experience with most common elderly illnesses and diseases. I worked with a lot of patients suffering from either dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes, urinary, respiratory, cardiopulmonary, restorative, and more. I absolutely enjoy making people happy and being part of people's lives, which is one reason I believe makes me great at care giving. I love to talk and companionship is a big plus for me in the healthcare field. I am very compassionate about the care I provide and I enjoy the friendships I get to make. I am always looking for ways and opportunities to better my skills and care. Just for a little extra info, I do speak some spanish, however not too fluent; I also play several musical instruments in which I got to share music with some of the residents I cared for. I am an RN choosing to work as a private duty caregiver. I have 36 years of nursing experience and skills to offer, in addition to a compassionate heart, meticulous attention to detail, maturity and reliability. I enjoy caring for elders in their home to enable them to be as independent as possible while remaining in the home they love.

I am currently a college student home for the summer. I enjoy poetry, hiking outdoors, and reading. I am very detail oriented, love to make conversation, and has a very positive attitude. I am interested in caregiving simply as a summer job but also to gain interpersonal skills.

I became a caregiver because I have always wanted to help others, it makes me feel good about myself to know that I have helped and improved someone's life. I am a recent graduate with my BS in Biology. I am planning on attending graduate school in roughly 5 years and am looking for a job that is personally rewarding such as helping individuals who can no longer care for themselves. I have experience as both a certified nursing assistant and a personal care assistant. In addition I have experience caring for my ailing grandparents in their last years of life. My course of study included anatomy and physiology, immunology and many other medically based courses which uniquely enable me to have a knowledge base in providing care that other may not have.

I became a caregiver by pure accident, I needed a job when I moved and applied at assisted living, and suddenly i saw a side of me i never knew i had. I am loving, caring, patient,and so much more. I loved the fact that i could make someones day better, by just being there, it made me go home with a smile. about a year and half after my first caregiver job i moved back to my home town and got another job in the nursing field, and they offered me to pay for me to become a certified LNA, so i took them up on there offer, so i proud of myself for committing to this career for 5 years, and it has been so rewarding. along with that I also have a 4 year old son, who is my world, he drives me to success everyday. I am also attending school in the fall to start the process of becoming an LPN. I am nervous but it has always been my dream so i minswell start now.

I am a compassionate and caring individual. I have cared for elderly people in the past including my grandmother who had heart failure and my Father who battled cancer and passed in 2010. I understand the importance of companionship for everyone but especially for those who are ill or in recovery. I enjoy helping those in need and make it a point to help put a smile on their face as often as possible. As far as my background, For ten years I worked in a group home with individuals with various disabilities. My day consisted of taking them on day trips, dispensing medication, housekeeping, and meal preparation. I also have a bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in human services. I would describe myself as energetic, down to earth, reliable and ethical. I treat all individuals with the dignity and respect they deserve.

I became a care giver when I was very young. I was blessed to have and know my great grandparents and grandparents. so as a little girl I began to take care of them because I loved them and because it came very natural to me. I loved the feeling of helping people and making them feel better and knowing that I made a difference. Just to know I helped them to be comfortable whether it was changing a bandage helping with medication making sure they got to a doctors appointment bathing them helping them with their p.a. just talking with them mostly listening (my fav) It never bothered me to sit with someone in their final days I knew they knew they were not alone. I have to say that doing these things are my personal achievements that I have done and want to continue to do. I have a huge heart and a tender touch and a lot of common sense . I'm funny and outgoing and love to bring my personal touch to ones life. I hope to continue to do my best and bring smiles and make everyone I take care of feel safe and secure. I'm a good communicator. I believe that being so makes things so much easier and helpful in everyway. I'm always open to change and to do better. I hope one day to be a recipient of what I have given to others.
