I am a certified CNA with the state of Arkansas and I have been a certified nurse's aid for most of my adult life I have worked in a nursing home setting as well as some Home Health and private care with with patients that have a wide variety of needs and my involvement with daily living from total dependency to just being there for respite care. I look forward to being able to help and lend to a helping hand anyway I can that would help those work with feel like smiling and helping them find things to smile about even if it's something small. I started helping with elderly after "raising" my grandparents, who both had Parkinson's. They had such amazing stories and loved to talk about their early years. People just want someone to listen to them. That is mostly what makes the elderly happy. Then later after I retired from my career in Corporate America, I began sitting again. I've had clients I stayed 2-3 days straight to just a few hours a week.

I started caregiving with my own mother at the age of 14. When my mother passed away at in my arms I knew that it was my calling to provide elderly with the stability and comfort they deserve to be able to stay in their own homes and feel loved and cared for like they deserve.

I care about helping elderly people and children that have a disability. When you love taking care of people and it's a blessing to want to do it, because some elderly people don't have family and you willing to step in and help.. God will bless you. You have to treat people the way you want to be treat.. One day we going to get old and we need the help. My achievement is that I help them to do whatever needs to be done, while they in my present of care.

I decided to become a caregiver after having a severe illness putting me in ICU for 8 days causing me to have to have help with basic daily activities like showering, toilet, walking ,etc. I personally enjoy getting to know the patients (residents) such as their life stories , medical history , likes and dislikes personal interest.
