I think I'm a great caregiver because I'm very sympathetic and emotional when it comes to my consumers. I get very close and create great bonds with them, I would treat them how I would want someone to treat my loved one. I have been in healthcare for years now and I enjoy making someone's day. I became a caregiver because my mom use to be one and then she became disabled and I started taking care of her. I'm most proud of being a traveling healthcare worker because I can explore but yet still work at the same time.

I have over eight years' experience in the care industry. I began as a CNA working in nursing homes for four years before moving on to being a home counselor helping integrate the mentally challenged into society. After retiring from the workforce in 2010, I returned to work in home care for senior citizens. I have gained a wide variety of skill and maintain a professional connection with all my clients. I currently work with two home-care agency's and constantly educate myself to hone my skills. My compassion for senior citizens began while in middle school in the small town of Center Point Iowa. We have an eight apartment senior building close to the school. Every day, I would stop by, pick up the newspaper in front of the door and knock. Every time I was invited in to socialize. Listening to live history those folks lived through will always be in my fondest memories. I love taking care of those who paved the way for our society. Every client I meet gets professional care with a friendly, family atmosphere.
