My name is Barb. I have been in the caregiver field since 2015. I started caregiving because I live to help people. I have a very laid back personality and go to great lengths to help my clients. I am often flexible with the tasks that are asked of me and also with my schedule.

I am one of a kind, since i have been young i have always wanted to help others..That why i picked my profession in healthcare, who wouldnt love me, im very friendly, loving, caring individual that light up a room.. what attracted me to being a caregiver is the joy in happiness i gave to the clients, patients, in there family by doing my job. What i love most is the clients in being there for them in making there day joyful in happy. Being in this field is an achievement for me just chnging peoples lifes in continuing to still be able to do that for other when they have nobody.

I was a housekeeper at Heritage Woods in Charleston for 2 years and realized I found my calling which is working with elderly people. I took care of my Aunt at her home for 1 year until she went to a nursing home because she required 24 hour care. Then I took care of an elderly woman in Neoga for the past 3 years until she recently passed. I love caring for elderly people. They are like my second family.

I enjoy taking care people. I believe that this is my calling in life. I believe that no matter what your disability is that there still life to be lived. If there something that you still want to do ,but can't physically there is always a way to make that happen. I love being able to make a difference in people's health but if also worked with hospice clients as well and the only difference with that is your job is to make them comfortable

Hi there! I am a 32 year old mother of 2. I live in Bethany with my 10 year old daughter and 8 year old son. I have always loved caring for others, no matter their age or needs. I find giving yourself to someone else in your profession is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling! I especially have a tender spot for the elderly. As a girl I volunteered in nursing homes my mama was employed by. She's a nurse of 18 years and opened the door to this world for me. I immediately fell in love with providing care and knew this was my calling in life. I am CPR certified, and have performed CPR successfully once after a patient suffered a heart attack. I am also certified in home care, Alzheimer's Disease, communicable disease, bathing/grooming, and transferring. I am able to perform glucose checks, manage oxygen use, take blood pressures, and perform range of motion. I am trained in creating and carrying out care plans as well as shift charting. My most recent patient has passed away, leaving me to find someone to devote myself to. I was with him for approximately 7 years, and the loss has been difficult. After taking some time to grieve, I am now ready to move forward and continue the line of work I am so passionate about. I am a very compassionate, caring woman. ...quick to smile and love to laugh. I am incredibly detail oriented and very reliable. I understand the importance of patience and building a foundation of trust, while giving consideration to each individual's needs and wants. It's never only about what someone needs. What a person wants is just as important, and if at all possible to safely give them that, I feel the effort should be made. My goal is to provide the medical care my patient needs, while also being a companion and allowing them to remain in their home where they feel safe and secure in their surroundings.
