I was attracted to being a caregiver because I wanted to be able to help people be able to do things they are unable to do without help . I just wanted to help them have the normal life they would have if they were able to do so .

I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years and enjoy caring for others and improving their quality of life. I am a Respiratory Therapist and have an Associates degree as a Medical Office Assistant. I also am a volunteer time with my local Volunteer Fire Department as the President, Captain of the K9 Search and Rescue Team as well as a K9 Handler and an EMT. I became interested in being a caregiver when I was a teenager when I took care of my Grandmother and saw the challenges she endured in her life as she aged. I also have a diploma in Canine Obedience trainer and Veterinary Assistance. I feel my greatest achievement is nationally certifying 2 different K9s at 3 levels of trailing to help locate lost and missing people.

I started caring for people since before I even could understand what it was. My little sister is severely autistic. I would help her with her activities of daily living everyday. When I got out of high school in 2010 I started working as an STNA in Ohio. I have worked in multiple nursing homes, home care agencies, group homes, and day programs. I can't say I have seen it all but I have seen a lot. I learn something new everyday and I love to learn. I have alot of experience from alzeimers and dementia to schizophrenia. Being a care giver gives me a great deal of purpose. Helping people gives me a sense of joy. One personal achievement I have made by myself would be starting as a care giver in a group home and got promoted to a site supervisor.

I am a great caregiver because I am; patient, reliable, have a positive attitude, understanding, compassionate, trustworthy, respectful, and responsible. I was initially attracted to becoming a caregiver because I just naturally love helping people and I enjoy knowing I'm making a difference in someone else's life. It's a very rewarding feeling. BIO Hi I'm Antoinette!! I'm a nursing assistant at upmc northwest and Ive been there for 6 years. I've worked in several departments helping. I'm also a private home health assistant and at the moment I take care of another couple in the morning hours 5 days a week. CPR certified yes I am :) I love helping and caring for others. I'm very out-going, patient, persistent, caring, genuine and I love to make others smile. I enjoy socializing and getting to know everyone. It's not just a job to me it's a part of my life I enjoy doing because your helping someone and knowing that person can trust and depend on you means all the world.

I have always taken care of people around me. I grew up in a household with many people in and out. My parents were a certified safe house for cys (OCY) in the tri-county area. I also volunteered at nursing homes from the age of 12. I have always loved keeping people company and helping with what is needed. Since such a young age I have always loved helping people.

My name is Jeseica, I became a personal caregiver when my great grandmother ended up fighting the the battle with cancer. I started taking care of her from 2012 until 2014 when she lost the battle and passed. Then my grandmother ended up taking a turn for the worse, and I took care of her from 2014 until 2016 when she passed away. I'm a very loving, and caring person.
