I am a very open minded, calm person that is very dedicated to doing my job the right way. I chose to be a caregiver after taking care of my Great Aunt I love the fact that she knew she had someone she could depend on and care for her and that's what I want to provide to others. My passion began as a teenager, watching my mother operate a day program for mentally and physically challenged adults. I would spend early dismissal days at the program learning how to care and support adults who needed an extra hand. As I matured and ventured out into different career areas, I always seemed to end up back where I was most fulfilled and happy, which is caregiving. The rewards are in the smiles, milestones reached and surpassed and the trust that I build with the individuals and their families. Caregiving has allowed me to travel the US and gain experience in many different settings, while being exposed to the various challenges and conditions others face in the world. Gaining knowledge from medical professionals of all walks and being able to utilize everything I have learned have all benefited those I care for and allowed me to excel at what I love.

I have been working with the senior population for over 10 years. I am CPR and First-Aid trained and I enjoy the work I do. I have experience with hospice, BP checks,BS checks,meal preparation, medication reminders,run errands,doctor visits, and light housekeeping work. To see that you can put a smile on someone's face and make their lives easier in any way warms my heart. Within the first 3 months of working at Regional One Health as a Patient Care Assistant I was honored with an Over And Beyond article written about how I made a patient guest feel while taking care of her father. Word got around about how I took great care of her father and her as well! However, I did not know that they were good friends with the President and CEO Dr. Coopwood of Regional One Heath! Despite the challenges the rewards can be unsurpassable!

My personal traits: I'm very compassionate, I have a desire to work with people whom have physical and mental disabilities. I'm dependable, I place the needs of the clients first. I'm a good listener. Having family members with disabilities helped me to understand the desire for families needs for a good caregiver. I am thankful for being a caregiver for my family and friends. I enjoy caregiving because it allows me to give quality service. My greatest personal achievement I was able to take care for my grandparents when they needed me most. Because they took care of me when I needed them.

Well what makes me a good caregiver.... This is my gift, I was called to take of the elderly I love doing this and would'nt trade it for nothing.

I became a Caregiver because I love helping people old and young. What I like about being a Caregiver is my conversation I have with my Clients. My personal achievement is letting my Clients know just because they may be sick or down they are still somebody and their life is not over it's still worth living.
