Communication is key, along with encouragement, patience, and creative problem-solving skills. I have work in healthcare for over 35 years. The first 18 were with developmentally disabled individuals. I then stepped into roles as a home health aide, patient care technician, patient care assistant, professional addictions counselor, medical assistant and a certified nursing assistant.
