I went to nursing school in 2014. I have my associates of science (AAS), and was working in a nursing home as a nurse assistant for 3 years. I really enjoyed with my elderly residents and taking care of their needs. In 2021, I started working for Carelinx and I've really enjoyed helping and meeting new people. I'm currently working to get my bachelor's as a geriatric nurse. One day, I hope to work in a nursing home to help my residents.

I'm a very empathetic person, and I'm drawn to caregiving because I love helping people. The thing I enjoy about being a caregiver is seeing a smile on a client's face when I've done something to make them feel great. One of the things that I am most proud of is being able to say that I serve my country...it's an honor.

I am a retired nurse with experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, mental health, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and dementia. I am certified in many areas of nursing and fluent with many medical equipments including oxygen. I am very out going and love to laugh, cook, do laundry(yes, really!), And I take pride in my work.

I am careful, safe, organized and coordinated in transporting clients for their needs whether it is for picking up medications, getting them to and from their appointments, filling out forms, helping with their shopping, all personal care service for their daily living for and anytime they want some simple conversation and just not be alone. To give and share with clients, one must be compassionate and patient and have an understanding that those needing care would like for the caregiver to understand their needs. There happens to be an advantage to being a caregiver that can put themselves in the shoes and situation of those with the need. My joy is realized when the needs are filled and the cared for people are grateful and thankful. I want to give the care and experience the joy often. I have experienced this joy with my parents as I cared for them. Currently I am a part-time caregiver for various clients providing them all the assistance they may need. Professional and courteous, always on time. Administering medication and food through a gastric tube. Bathing and attending to other personal hygiene and grooming needs. Food preparation and feeding client, according to strict dietary requirements and procedures Cleaning and light housekeeping (client's laundry, dishwashing, cleaning spaces used by client and caregivers, cleaning therapy equipment) Assisting with therapies (cognitive, speech, occupational) and range-of-motion exercises, including manual transfers to and from bed to assist client with weight-bearing and balance exercises. General companionship and interaction with client (i.e. reading books, cognitive therapies). Driving client to and from appointments and activities in a client-provided wheelchair accessible van.

I have 10+ years of experience in adult and senior care. I do my very best to be as dependable, reliable, compassionate and caring as I can be. I try to evaluate an individual's needs and create a care plan just for them. I can help with meal prep, medication, doctor's appointments, transportation and even chores around the house. I've worked with elders who have Alzheimer's and dementia., stroke patients. Wheel chair bound Bed written elders. I work as a caregiver for almost 16 years and I do have compassion for an individual in need. Regardless of what color, status, culture, or situation. I like to help and what I enjoy most as a caregiver is when I see my client happy of what I do for them. My personal achievement for my job is making sure the client is safe and comfortable.

Being a caregiver truly isn't for everyone, as for me I have to say I love what I do! I am very compassionate and caregiving has truly been a job that allows me to just simply be ME. Since I was a little girl I've felt I had a calling to care for others and help them feel better. It's been a life long passion to pursue my education in Nursing. I have a heart of gold, and am extremely compassionate, and empathetic. I do my absolute best to treat others as I would like to be treated. To care for anothers as if it were me, with kindness, respect, and understanding. Seeing a smile on someone's face absolutely fills my heart with joy. I've babysat since I was 10 years of age. I volunteered at a local hospital during High School in the Obstetrics Department, and Operating Room. I also went to Nursing Camp at Houston Baptist University. I stood in on 3 different surgeries, one of which I later had myself. I was a Girl Scout until 21 years of age, and a Camp Counselor and Nurse during the summer after my senior year of High School. I then went on the become a CNA, a Phlebotomist, and Medical Assistant. I plan to further my education in Nursing. I look forward to providing the best care possible to every client I cross paths with professionally in the future.

My experience has been primarily with seniors living in assisted living facilities and their private homes. Through various home health agencies I ve also learned many restorative exercises and how to use medical equipment. I enjoy what I do because I able to help a family in need by keeping their loved one in home.
