I have 30 years of experience in providing personal in-home care for disabled, cognitively impaired, chronically ill, and hospice patients. I assist patients with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. I monitor patients' vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration. I am a thoughtful and considerate person who takes pride in providing the best care possible. I became a caregiver through the influence of my great aunt and grandmother as they were the neighborhood caregivers. I watched them as a child and knew I wanted to do the same thing. I began by taking care of my grandmother when she became home bound in her older age. For the past three years, I was the care taker for my mother after she suffered a stroke. The thing I enjoy the most is feeling a sense of joy and humility in assisting those in need in conducting their activities of daily living. They are so appreciative. I have compassion for people and i have firsthand experience. I have my son who is 25 and autistic and still lives with me putting him in a home is not an option.
