Caregiving is a very personal job, still I find ways to incorporate love, humor, cheerfulness, fun, hope, trust and optimism into my care. I look forward to building a close relationship with my clients as well as their family. I love that I get the opportunity to listen and learn about thier lives as it allows me to live vicariously through their many adventures, life accomplishments and travels. I have been a caregiver for over 15years. I am also a Medical Assistante. I have dealt with clients with Alzheimer's, Dementia and other illnesses. I have tremendous empathy, patience and respect for each client. I treat each one as I do my father, whom I have been caring for the last 7years.Before caregiving, I managed restaurants for 23 years. I have ALWAYS been a customer service focused person. I wanted to make a change that fulfilled my heart. The thing I enjoy most about my job is assisting people with retaining their independence and self respect, even with a disability. Everyone needs to feel productive, like they contribute. The personal achievement that I am most proud of is that in the last year I have gotten my dad into the best mental, nutritional health that he has been in in the last 30 years.

What makes me a good caregiver is that I care and love helping others. In the last two years I have cared for two different woman, one of which has dementia and needed to get out of the house for errands, doctor appointments and companionship. It allowed her husband to have some alone time and allowed her to feel she had not lost her independence. The other woman is 92 years old. This job asked for a full time live in which I embraced. My duties included, cooking all her meals, shopping for all food, daily bathing and administering her medications. I also take her to needed appointments, and general outings. I love a clean house and keep her home as clean as I would my own. The reason I would be a good choice is that I am realible, trustworthy, and an excellent cook and driver. I am currently looking to relocate to Palm Springs, Indian Wells or La Quinta.
