I am a compassionate and gentle woman. I have experience in several realms: assisting in care for my grandma for several years before she passed, working with high school special needs students, as well as being previously certified as a CNA, and later on EMT. I made a career change to IT, so I didn't maintain my certs, but I still have a deep passion and yearning to help and serve others. I appreciate being able to make a difference in someone's life by giving care and companionship. Whether it be simply with my presence for conversation, or for assistance with daily tasks in the home, to assistance with self care. I am a care giver at heart! I have always been the nurturer of the family. I have 17+ yrs experience with caring for the elderly. 13 of those years specializing in Alzheimer's and dementia care. I learned from my previous residents' that it's important to have a sense of humor in this field of work, which I can think I'm a comedian some days! I never knew this work was meant for me until it just fell into my lap one day and was told by many I was a natural. I find it very rewarding seeing my patient's happy, see someone relieved of their pain, or just making that special bond or friendship after earning their trust. Whether it be just for a moment in each day, to see that I made my patient's life a little bit easier for them-makes caregiving so worthwhile. Something I have achieved would be staying in this field of work for so many years. There are people that simply aren't capable of doing the "dirty work" that comes with the job title. I can admit sometimes there will be "bad days,"but will always realize that at the end of the day- the good outweighs the bad....

I have always enjoyed helping others and being there for someone when no one else can. I have worked as a registered behavior technician for children with neurodiversities and worked as a caregiver for all aged individuals. What made me want to be a caregiver was the ability not only help others, but to be a companion as well. I also enjoy being able to have a flexible schedule for school and my family. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is hearing the stories my clients have to tell, building a relationship and putting a smile on their face. Hello, I'm Nicole and I was raised In Germany and Denmark before moving to the USA with my mom in ...well a long time ago. Growing up in a diverse social service worker household, where my Summers and all my school breaks were spent in camps and day cares with kids/adults with special needs, I never considered a career in anything BUT taking care of others. I remember my Great grandma going through the stages of Alzheimers and not fully understanding this, but feeling that she needed lots of love. While so many people are unhappy about their employment I feel blessed to have mine. I'm happy to say that I love doing what I do and I get to do it 24/7It is not a job to me it is my life, my history and my future. I am a highly energetic woman and I love to bring joy to others. At the same time, I'm patient and compassionate and I respect that everyone's situation is unique and needs to be treated as such. I spent nearly 20 years in case management and I came to realize how much I missed Direct Care, especially after taking care of my daughter. One of my favorite sayings is " It is an honor to take care of the ones that once took care of us' I have many many years of experience in a very diverse Social Service background and I don't shy away from any responsibilities.
