I became a caregiver because i enjoy helping others.I like the satisfaction of knowing that i am making someone else's life more tolerable and comfortable.I am proud to say that i have saved a few peoples lives when they stopped breathing or was choking, and i acted quick enough to do that for them.I have been a CNA for 25+ years. I care for a disabled girl with sizure disorder. I'm very proud she is doing better in her ADL.she did not walk. Now she uses a walker and has improved tremendously. I work hard and listen to her need. Made her happy by taking her out to enjoy the outdoors.

After over 30 years working in IT with computers, 10 years ago I reinvented myself in the healthcare field starting as a Certified Nurse Aide. I have been volunteering and working as a CNA and a Mental Health Tech since 2010. I love working with patients as well as children and being a nanny. Oct - April 2017 : home health aide for Mary Wolcott, with food prep and light house cleaning, range of motion work for after surgery help. * Sept 2012 - Oct 2014 : Mental Health Tech at Peakview Behavioral Health. Duties included working with psychiatric patients (acute) Collaborates with physicians, psychiatric nurses and therapist in assessing, guiding and encouraging patients towards measurable therapeutic outcomes. Conducts both in / formal psycho-educational, recreational and interpersonal skills development groups. Observes and influences patient behaviors and interactions towards prescribed treatment goals. It began with my mama...she was 48 years old when I was born and I took very good care of her and as time continued I realized I was very good at it and enjoyed caring for others needing my services. My sister and I learned about giving from both our parents. I also worked at the L.A. TIMES newspaper for over 17 years before returning to healthcare...that was something else i was very good at, Telecommunications. Most of my income went to private schools for my children in LOS ANGELES and COLORADO 1993-1998 loved it! But was ready to return home in 2017.Im most proud of my adult children and grandchildren. I am a very compassionate person and love caring for people that need it the most. I am always early, sometimes too early and I hate being late. I tend to do more than I should and throw myself completely into my work. I feel that there is no care left in healthcare and I like to think I am doing my best to bring it back everyday one patient at a time. I really enjoy caring for the elderly and spending time with them and i feel home setting are a much better environment than facilities.
