I consider myself to have been in the care business for a number of years at one time owning my own in home care services and then later graduating with a master's in counseling offering other services of clinical care, and pre need services. Now I'm at a point in my life that I just want to slow down a bit, still helping, but give of my time to families who are in need of help in Care giving. Care giving is very rewarding, no matter what capacity of care giving, it gives to self worth when you can truly find the time and open your heart to someone in need.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I'm a caring loving person and I care about my clients/residents and how they feel, I'm a very understanding person, working as a caregiver I consider it my calling not just a job ,I become a caregiver due to being encouraged by my grandmother who is no longer with me, giving her the best care in her last moments and hearing her say you will make a good nurse someday really encouraged me to get in this field, It became a part of me and every person I care for I remember what my granny said to me, So I do it to the best of my ability and each person I touch I try to make a difference in their lives, what I like about being a caregiver is comforting my clients,making them feel safe and secure being there for them just listening to them,understanding their needs ,comforting them and knowing I'm making a difference in their lives.My Personal Achievement is I'm proud I can make someone mom or dad smile and to hear that I'm doing a great d job with their family member,and being able to make a difference is what makes the difference

Hello , my name is Tmeciah Hill my passion for caregiving started with my mom she's been a CNA for 23 years and by her being a single mom me and my brother had to go to work with her some days and watching her take care of her clients and just make them comfortable and feel loved made me want to do the same , I would help my mom feed her clients and exercise with them all at the age of 13 years old. The one thing I love the most about being a caregiver is giving someone's family hope that they can still be happy and comfortable despite their age or disability.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I know howto make things easy for myself and my client. What attracted me to become a caregiver I love helping someone that can't help themselves. I became a caregiver after I had quit my job to become a caregiver for my mother who was suffering with terminal cancer. She passed away, but the quality time we were able to share while I was caring for her is so precious to me. Then I began to realize how important it is to give unconditional love and empathy to anyone who is suffering with an illness or the negative effects of living their senior years alone. I began to realize that we all will come to that stage in our life and having someone who truly cares about your well-being and helps you with a loving heart will make all the difference in the world! I enjoy being a caregiver because it is gratifying to "give back" I also like the fact that at the end of the day "I made a difference" in their life (even if they won't remember me the next day?!) My greatest achievement is the raising of my two children who have grown up to be successful independent adults. They both have a confidence and drive to do anything they set their mind to do. Makes me very proud! One thing I can share about myself is that while I was growing up, my sister and I would go to my Grandmother's house which she converted into a boarding home for the elderly. We would help her with various things such as, helping prepare meals, serving food, entertaining the guest, (like playing cards with them, putting on skits, singing, etc.) I have great memories of that time and realize as an adult what a great heart my grandmother had for helping the elderly.

The care she gave me was unmatched and it made me want to follow in her foot steps an help others

What i like the most about caregiving is the ability to treat those as I would want myself to be treated in time of need. I find that with compassion, good listening skills and trying to understand and empathize with my clients not only does my client feel loved but learn that they can work towards a goal, increase their independance or have one that will help meet my clients needs . I find it extremely rewarding personally and always find new friends and family along this path.
