I started helping my mom with my dad when I was 14 yrs old after he had a stroke. I fell in love with helping people. My favorite thing about being a caregiver aside from helping them with what they need is the bonds that are formed. The clients sort of become family. I'm a mom to 2 kids and bonus mom to 3 others. Raising them in this dark world to be kind and loving and respectful as well as respectable is my biggest accomplishment.

My life is built around love and compassion. I have worked in healthcare for 25+ yrs, with some of my my most memorable moments in elderly care. I have worked anywhere from, home health, hospice, memory care, assistant administrator, etc. I love working with our elderly community because they have lived and know a life, we will never know. I love to listen to their history, how they were raised, and see them through different eyes. Laugh and smile with them. They were once young just as you and I.

I am a caring and loving person who enjoys helping others. I have been in the healthcare field for 10 years and am currently pursuing my RN BSN. I was a wellness assistant at an assisted living residence where I became attracted to being a caregiver. I then became a Rehab Tech at an LTACH which further secured my desire to care for others. I most enjoy the relationship and trust I develop with the clients. My most proud achievement was assisting the therapist with treatment of a TBI patient and seeing all the hard work we endured pay off with the patient walking in the doors of our faculty when the level was dependent upon arrival to the hospital.

Hello, my name is Kimberly and I have been a caregiver, companion or sitter for over 30 years now and I believe that patience is a necessity in this field, and it is one thing that has helped me be a great caregiver. My siblings and I was raised by my grand-aunt while at the same time she was caring for us, she was also the primary caregiver for her mother, which was our grandmother. My aunt took care of my grandmother without any outside help, because back then there were no agencies that would come to the home and render care, just as there were no adult disposable briefs, just cloth. My aunt took care of my grandmother at home until she passed away at 100 years old. Thats what attracted me to being a caregiver. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is letting those who I care for know, that they are important and valued. I enjoy making those I care for feel comfortable and relaxed. I really enjoy it when I can get a gut laugh or at least a smile once a day, because laughing is healing. Overall, what I truly enjoy most about being a caregiver is the rewarding feeling that I get when I know that I have made someone's day a little brighter, because I never know when that day comes, when I will need the same in return, so it humbles me. The personal achievement that I am most proud of is when my aunt received a diagnoses of Alzheimer's and I without hesitation quit my job to take care of my aunt at home full-time. I gave her the same loving and compassionate care that I witnessed her give to my grandma. I took care of my aunt without help, for the last 12 years of her life until she passed away at 101 years old, at home. That is my highly valued personal achievement that I am most proud of in life because, I did it!

Good with elders, cleaning and organizing is my best skill. Basic medical knowledge is known. I'm home health certified, spent last 5 years dealing with a client that really needed a nursrying home. But those were his wishes. To this day he's still alive!!

I am a mother of four boys and a school teacher. I have experience in dealing with a variety of health care situations. My goal is to provide compassionate and loving care to those in need. I have experience working with the elderly, as I took care of my grandmother after her stroke, my grandfather who suffered from diabetes, and I am currently the caregiver to my father who suffers from brain cancer.
