Straight out of high school I went into caregiving because it made my heart happy. I took care of my mom for four years and it thought me values and care skills only a mother could teach you.
I enjoy seeing the little things in life improve in people... when I brush residents teeth for the first time (when I was new) and she said no one has done it in months, we because best friends.
One specific (call her 219) resident had cerebral palsy but could still walk- we started to take 30 min walking training sessions each day I worked because I make time for her like no one else did.
I still go visit them on the holidays.
