Observe or examine patients to detect symptoms that may require medical attention, such as bruises, open wounds, or blood in urine. Exercise patients who are comatose, paralyzed, or have restricted mobility. Feed patients or assist patients to eat or drink. Communicate with patients to ascertain feelings or need for assistance or social and emotional support. 1 thing that attracted me to be a caregiver is just the thought of helping others & putting a smile on their face I really enjoy it. I started my career at NHC working in memory care & I loved it there the residents I had were so sweet. It was a tough job at times but I enjoyed it for the most part. I recently switched over to home care & I love this even more especially getting to go run errands with my clients & enjoying the day & sitting & talking to them & finding out things they like to do & how they grew up.

I retired in 2014. I loved my job and my patients, but the drive to and from Nashville became so time consuming on top of a 10 hour day. I volunteer at the hospital because I really enjoy helping patients and missed being in the medical field. I received an award at my job for being an outstanding caregiver. I really love caring for people.
