I have been a caregiver and a Medication Aide for the past 17 years, both in facilities and in-home private care, especially with different forms of dementia like Alzheimers, Parkinson and lewy body. After the diagnosis of our mother with Alzheimers, I realized how much care she needed and in return I knew this is what I wanted to do. What I enjoy the most about caregiving, is seeing the relief of families when I am there to help, in the comfort of their homes. Hi, my name is Leah and I'm 41 years old. I love the one on one personalized care I can give and I am able to tailor meals/nutrition, social, mental, emotional, physical stimulation according to the person's preferences. Most importantly to allow the person to stay in their familiar environment/home for as long as possible. I love the stories and words of wisdom the folks have to share. I am a sweet, caring and honest caregiver and my co-workers have always told me that I work from my heart. I still remember my last patient's compliment: "You work so fast and furious," because I love to persevere and I am always organized. 1. What actually makes me a great caregiver is my willingness to serve others and I believe it's my calling. 2. I became a caregiver because, I have great compassion for individuals in need of personal one on one care. 3. Their are several reasons why I like being a caregiver. The first reason is that I am able to be there for individuals that are in need of help. Another reason I enjoy being a caregiver is because, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and after the cancer she went into remission. Shortly afterwards, she was diagnosed with dementia. Recently she was diagnosed with Parkinson. I eventually had to move her into my home and I realized how self fulfilling and rewarding it is to serve others with sincere humility. I feel that as a caregiver each individuals that I care for should receive the best of care, compassion, and the best quality of care that life has to offer. 4. My most greatest achievement is yet to come because, I'm looking to achieve more tomorrow than I have today. Life is a lifelong learning process and when you think that you have achieved your greatest achievement there is still room left for more improvement.

I am a respectful and respecting lady. I love to care for the elderly as I want them to be happy, meet their basic needs, and be adjusted with their changes in health as life goes on.
