Loving people makes me a great caregiver because love is an action word. I became a caregiver because I love caring for those not thought of. My greatest accomplishment was learning to love in spite of and getting vaccinated.

I consider myself a good listener, optimistic, patient, and sensitive to other people's feelings and emotions. I like taking care of others because it reminds me of the time I used to take care of my grandmother and spend time with her either during good times or bad times. What I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is listening to others while I make myself available to help them. I am proud of having a psychologist bachelors degree.

I care about the people I work with. I don't see it as a job but family I'm caring for. My mom was a CNA for over 20 years and she always said I should be a caregiver but fatei feel, brought me to doing this rewarding job. I am a caring and loving person. I'm the person families trust with their loved ones. I cared for my first client to the best of my ability. That was my best achievement.

Since I was a young girl, whether it be for my loved ones or the underprivileged, I have always had an innate concern for those in need. My inherent compassion for the livelihood challenges of others has developmentally led me to pursue an educational life-long career as a guidance counselor and health-care provider. What I have learned in my experience, when caring for any individual, is that each person's needs are distinct and should not be identified as like any other individual. When an individual is challenged in any capacity, demonstrating you care in getting to know them as a person, their strengths and limitations with personable kindness, compassion, and patience, can make all the difference to the individual and the family members who depend on you as an extension of themselves. Sometimes a simple smile can make a person feel more relaxed and willing to work with you as a caregiver to aid them with their inability of managing their own lives on their own. As a professional counselor and caregiver, what gratifies me the most about helping an individual is being a part of improving their quality of life for their overall well-being; mind, body, and spirit

I am an extrovert, always smiling & seldom sit! If I can add a smile to someone's day or make them feel special, then both of us will have a rewarding day! I was a pediatric ophthalmology specialist in Canada; when we were transferred to the USA, I began a food manufacturing company. A friend approached me in 2015 to ask if I would help with their mum who was near vegetative status due to progressing dementia and being alone. Four months later, this beautiful Lady was walking, singing, dancing, and cooking with me - one of the most self-gratifying endeavors of my life. Now living in the beautiful hill country, retirement is not satisfying - I do volunteer at the VA hospital just to see these heroes smile, laugh & have someone to listen to them... and of course plenty of hugs! I would treasure being able to help another person find enjoyment in life. I'm a very empathetic person, and I'm drawn to caregiving because I love helping people. The thing I enjoy about being a caregiver is seeing a smile on a client's face when I've done something to make them feel great. One of the things that I am most proud of is being able to say that I serve my country...it's an honor.

I'm caring, respectful, dependable, compassionate and a great listener, It is because of my mom that I became a CMA Knowing how much help she needed and at that time I wasn't able to be there for her as much as she needed me to so I wanna be there for someone who needs the help. I am a mature, friendly, intelligent and fun woman. I have been a caregiver to different family members and lastly to my own mother. She passed away in 2008 from Alzheimer's and liver cancer. I provided much of the care as my mother was a private person. It was rewarding and I learned alot with the AD support group. I am retired from a career as a health plan worker and would now like to help those in need of companionship, health plan knowledge for appointment setting, rides to appointments and other chores that they may need. I spent as much time as possible after retirement, at the nursing home where my aunt was living. I spoke of family history, showed her pictures, played her favorite music and took her out to the garden area. She loved flowers. There are many elderly who are in need of companionship and I am available to provide that.
