I try to approach life with a sense of humor even when things get rough it helps to try to find the bright side of a situation. I've been taking care of people since my late teens when my grandmother fell ill with cancer. It just turned out to be something I'm good at and that I like doing. The job can be tough but it is also very rewarding. I just enjoy taking care of people.

I started out assisting in teaching western horse back riding lessons to children and adults for over 10 years, I worked my way to babysitting and private care to adults with IDD. And then began working with agencies that provided services to adults and children with mental health and IDD diagnosis. My passion is working with people, especially those diagnosed with physical or mental disabilities.

After leave my public job to care for my mother in law it really gave me a light into the health care needs outside of a facility. I had been a care giver to my kids and grandkids and In helping care for my mother in law really pushed me to seek opportunities to help families keep their loved ones home and cared for without having them in a facility.

Between my work experiences and personal needs of family and friends, I've spent most of my life as a caregiver. I raised two special needs children of my own while attending to my aging parents, including my mother with dementia. Shortly after the passings of my parents, I was the caregiver for my husband who eventually succumbed to COPD. On a volunteer basis, I've provided end-of-life care and post operative assistance. I would say that the thing that I love about being a caregiver is getting to meet new people and helping them with whatever they need and becoming their friend and making sure they get what they need and give them the respect that they need and show them the love that I have and am willing to share with then and their families. My personal achievement that I am proud of is 1 being the best mother I can to my child and I am in school going for my Bachelors Degree in Adult Behavioral Sciemce.
