Hey there, My name is Melody DeGrave and I live in Green Bay. I am currently a Certified Medical Assistant/LPN. I previously worked as a CNA for 7 years in Nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Rehab facilities and Disabled homes. I have been a nurse for 5 years at Aurora Healthcare working as a float nurse in OB/GYN, behavioral health, pediatrics, family practice and internal medicine. I recently started a new position with St Elizabeth hospital in the heart and lung unit. I previously took care of a paraplegic man in his home for 3 years with a hoyer lift. I would go to his home every morning before work and give him a shower/ get him ready for the day and give him any meds or apply any topicals he may have needed. I loved doing this, I am capable and I am more than willing to help where help is needed. I currently work Monday-Thursday 830:430. I would be willing to help any times outside of those hours. My passion is Home Health Care. I believe that an individual should be able to stay in their home and receive cares while remaining as independent as possible. I am a confident and professional caregiver. One of my main skills is figuring out all of the client's nuances that will help me to work along with them to make cares at home as comfortable as possible. I am respectful of boundaries. I know that it can be difficult to have a new person come into your home so I try to ease into cares at the client's pace.

I am a compassionate and caring person. I'm very reliable and responsible. I'm the oldest of 7 children, so I suppose I'm prone to caregiving. I did in home day care for 20+ years. It's just who I've always been. I think what I enjoy most about caregiving is being able to make a difference and help people. One of the most proud moments in my life is caring for and helping people, and raising my children to be caring and respectful.

I am a very caring person and friendly. I do quality work and I love to help others in any way that I can. I became a caregiver because I enjoyed spending time with other generations, other than my own, and understanding their perspective. I also became a caregiver because I love helping others in any way that I can. I got my CNA certification about 8 months ago and I have worked (and still am working) 2 jobs doing in home care. I am however looking for another job not working with a company and being a private caregiver.

What makes me a great caregiver is that im in it and there for them. I got a big kind loving heart and enjoy spending quality time with them. I like to make them feel as their quality of life still has a meaning and just cause their age my prevent them from doing things as they did before it doesnt mean that that there life has stopped or aging has to be a sad time in their life and that it should be the best and most enjoyable time in their life. I come from a family of different ranking nurses with big hearts and know from the age of 8 that, that was my calling in life when my grandmother who also became my only mother i knew fell ill of leukemia which took her from me very fast and who i soon fell to caring for getting needles and shots and other such things to prolong her life i wanted and learned how to do this. The ongoing process of many hospitals everyday after school i lost what most kids had but to me it was worth every last miniute being able to spend them with her. To me this is my way of keeping her alive knowing that helping them and having understanding of them listening and laughing to me if i can do that then i make their lives that much better

I became a caregiver after helping my dad through his battle with cancer when I was just a teenager. I am a single mother of three children. I love reading, music, arts and crafts. I feel I sympathize with the elderly more so than the younger population, specializing in dementia and memory care. I look way younger than I am, I am somewhat shy but once I get to know a person we are friends forever.

Hi there, my name is Jennifer. I'm 24 years old from Seymour Wisconsin. I currently live in Hobart Wisconsin. I started care giving when I was 15 years old when I started helping take care of numerous people in my family. I didn't fully start care giving on a professional level until I was 18 years old. I really do enjoy care giving , I always have. Being able to help someone with something they are no longer able to do themselves , or just even being able to make someone's day better with my help or just by my company, makes me happy. I have completed all my basic CBRF trainings. And just through the years it has gave me a great deal of knowledge and experience to assist me on a daily basis with my work.
