Being honest, caring, punctual and following instructions makes me a great caregiver. It's making a client feel comfortable about being themselves and caring about their needs that's very meaningful to me as I'm learning as I go along that not all clients are the same. My personal achievement is being able to make him/her laugh again and love life no matter what their circumstances. I have been doing caregiving for 15years.

I'm a mother of 5 and grandmother to 10. I've worked as a caregiver for the last 15+ years and counting. I love my clients and working with the elderly. What started out as a job became second nature and probably alot of that has to do with my cultural background. I loved it so much, I paid for my own training and certifications to be an independent caregiver. I got bonded, insured and registered with the state and I have several great references from the loving families of those whom I have cared for over the years. I've had great experiences with those who I have worked for and with, along with learning from wonderful nurses and doctors that I've interacted with during the care of many of my clients. I am very proud of the achievements I've made in taking the initiative to learn as I go with each client, and each client came with various conditions and ailments, and some with multiple conditions. It has been a great journey of growth and connection for me like no other and I find it so fulfilling to be able to help our elderly generation in need. They have been all like family.

I believe what makes me a great caregiver is the experience I have. I have 4 years experience working for an agency and independently. I have significant experience with hospice care, dementia, Alzheimers , Parkinson's, COPD, cancers, companion care and the general everyday care of those that can't do things for themselves anymore like cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and showers. I always keep medical books in the homes of my clients/patients. I urge families to invest in blood pressure , oxygen, weight scales and thermometer devices so that Vitals can be monitored regularly for any changes. The medical books will keep logs of daily living such as any Dr appointments, mood changes, medications, vitals, daily diet and activities. It's important to catch/detect any change in health. Communication is big with me on keeping everyone on the same page so that the best care can be given at all times. I'm a registered health care aid in the state of California. CPR/First Aide certified. I became a health care aide because I believe our loved ones get better care at home from one on one care opposed to a nursing home.

Skills & Certifications: Renal and Urological Disorders, Cardiovascular Disorders, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Home Care Aide (HCA), Cancer Recovery, Vision and Eye Disorders, Stroke, Respiratory Disorders, Post Surgery Recovery, Parkinson's Disease, Palliative Care, Orthopedic Care, Neurological Disorders, Hospice Care, Home Health Care, Hearing Disorders, Diabetes, Depression, Dementia, COPD, Arthritis, Alzheimer's Disease

I am a very nurturing and kind person. I am very sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of those around me, very empathetic, gentle, good sense of humor. Treating people with respect is very important to me and I know it is to you as well. Most recently, for over a year, I worked with 2 female clients. One client is 98 with visual and hearing impairments, diabetes and mild dimentia. I was responsible for taking daily glucose readings, keeping records of her medical data/appointments/medication dispensing. I cooked her a hearty breakfast and we ate together. I introduced her to a game called "WordCross" and she loved to play every day with me. It was great for her mind and was a good social experience as well. Another client had early stage Alzheimers, but was highly functional. I provided companionship, meal preparation for her and her husband, fixed her hair, walked outside with her, did their grocery shopping, and occasionally we enjoyed shopping/lunch trips together. I have additional experience working with clients that have terminal cancer. I not only met their specific physical needs, but created an environment for them which brought them comfort and peace during the most difficult time of their lives. What made me most aware of the needs of seniors was when my own grandmother was near the end of her life. I helped her daily with dressing, grooming, feeding, and eventually accompanied her through her last days in hospice. I understand how important it is for families to feel confident that their loved one is being treated with gentleness and respect. I want to help seniors to have the best quality of life possible. I look forward to visiting with you to see how I could help meet the needs of your loved one, Amy

I am a very compassionate and patient caregiver with 17 years of experience helping to care for individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. I began providing care when a close friend of mine needed help caring for her sick mother. I worked with this sweet lady for seven and a half years in which I refined my caregiving skills. The bond that I build with all of my clients is unmistakably genuine and sweet. Over my career I have cared for 15 different people and each one of them and the experiences that we have shared has helped to enrich my ability to care for the next one. I am also a proud mother of two wonderful children and that in itself speaks volume about my ability to care for others. I truly care for my clients as if they were a part of my own family.

My name is Kathrina, but friends and family call me Lina. I'm 24 years old but I I have a lot of experience with caregiving. My personality traits that I believe make me an excellent caregiver are; I'm empathetic and compassionate, which I believe helps me to connect with my patients more which therefore makes the patient more comfortable with having help from someone who essentially starts off as a stranger. I also consider myself to be very positive and enthusiastic which is good in any environment. What initially attracted me to caregiving was seeing my mom do it as her profession. The joy she gets from being able to help those in need and to build real bonds with the patient and their families is something you can't get in many other professions these days. What I enjoy most about caregiving is ending everyday knowing that I helped someone in need. The personal achievement I am most proud of is the annual food and clothing giveaway I started this year with my siblings aimed to help the underserved in our communities.
