My name is Maria Roman. I have been a caregiver for 4 years . I have experience in grooming , light cleaning , meal preparation, taking V/S ,toileting , administrating medication. I also have my CPR card . I have worked with clients with depression, hepatitis, tracheostomy's, g-tube and many more things as well. I love what I do . I enjoy helping people who are in need .

I want to help my clients as much as possible so they can stay in their own home. I love working with the elderly and disabled you can learn so much. Helping other people. My military service. I am a veteran of 20 years and I feel this is one of my greatest accomplishments.

Unfortunately, when I was younger, my family was in a car accident and one of my family members were killed. Since then I have always said I wanted to be a nurse to take care of people. I like to see people getting the help they need. Eventually I became a nurse (LVN).

My personality traits consist of being upbeat with a positive outlook on life. I offer companionship and help with everyday chores and health without my client having to compromise their precious time and giving the simplicity of being able to enjoy the companionship that I offer and also of others without the work and tasks of the everyday life hassles getting in the way of you visiting with family and friends. The things that attracted me to being a caregiver were my grandparents who I had the chance to spend a lot of time with as a child and ultimately was blessed to help them through the end stages of life and take the journey along side them. That was when I knew this is where I needed to be. I didn't feel prepared when I first became a caregiver, but with the support of my family, doctors, and social workers I made it through. Being a caregiver to my parents as they age has been so rewarding and I am proud of my role. I love being a caregiver.
