Health Caregiver / CNA Inspired by taking care of my parents at home until they passed . My mother passed 6 years ago and recently my father .2 years after losing my mother. I have a great personality especially around the elderly !My passion is helping others in there daily routines in order for them to be independent in there own surroundings to feel safe in there own home is part of there wellness. I enjoy cooking for others Our roles in being a caregiver is to help others and the family members knowing that there loved ones are been cared for .I am someone who has a very passionate heart . I am very detail oriented and organized in my own personal life. I am well with monitoring and scheduling medical appointments. Cooking meals and handling other household duties. I have a daughter who is grown who started having seizures at 15 years old and cared for her throughout. I have always taking care of others the way that I wish to be taken care of. I am loyal and reliable. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is being there when family members cannot be and treating those with respect and dignity that they deserve.

I love to make people smile. Caregiving became my passion around the age of 12. My mother who is an RN, opened her first home care business. The rest was history as they say! Hearing the stories from the past, life lessons, experiences from people who were light years ahead of me. It's been a joy getting to know different cultures & views. My passion is helping those who can't help themselves. A majority of the people I take care of are veterans. I wouldn't have it any other way! Sacrificing for the people who have done for the same for us is nothing less than an honor. My proudest achievement would be that people remember me & ask for me even when my work with them is done. Even though I've been employee of the month multiple times. Nothing compares to hearing from your residents mouth that they appreciate you for all you do.

I want those who require help and care from another to know I consider it an honor and a privilege to be the person to provide that care. Getting to know a person helps me understand the needs of that person. And a person and their needs should be treated with dignity and respect. I have always been a good listener, I love to hear life stories, as well as, how a person feels. I am happy to sit in companionable silence when the situation arises. I have a calming, caring presence which is a good fit for the careers I have chosen, including caregiving. I am the proud mother of 4 amazing adult children. My family is my heart and soul.

I am upbeat, patient and understanding. I am also very sensitive (every one tells me that as well) I am always the helper or want to fix things. I worked with the very young population ages 2-5 with severe/profound special needs. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only downside is when one of my young children passed away. Unfortunately it was quite often with the amount of care they needed. I had been working with a small child one to one for 2 years, from age 2-4 I was devastated when I came in to work looking forward to her smiling face, just to find out she had passed. Needless to say I was an emotional wreck and realized it was too much for me and it's something I could never get used to (as they say). I decided to care for the elderly as they need help to be as independent as possible. If I can put a smile on their face or help them stay independent as long as they can, then I am happy. When my papa passed away from Alzheimer's and dementia is when I wanted to give back to anyone struggling with this awful disease. I realized how rewarding it was for me. One thing I am most proud of is being able to get through to the hardest of residents when no other staff member could. When all the staff that was assigned to care for her would call on me to take care of them.. that is a good feeling.

I would love to try my hand at care giver. I took care of my husband for many years and I know how hard it is on family members to do this, I also know how hard it is to find someone to assist you in this challenge. I was a fairly young women when I was doing it and know how hard it was I would love to be able to assist in the care of a loved one to give peace of mind to the family that they can go shopping or out to dinner and know someone has their back. I also know how important it is for the patient to know their cared for and safe. I worked in the medical field for many years and I've seen a lot of bad situations and many more beautiful ones and thought in going to do that some day.

Since I was a child I have loved my grandmother very much and seeing her grow old and feeling how she is losing her abilities saddened me a lot. That is why I decided to be a caregiver to help all the people who need me. I am very responsible with my work I have a lot of patience and self-control to to lead with difficult diseases that arrive in old age. I feel a commitment and respect for what I do, I am happy and contagious to everyone and I make their life happier.
