Living with people and supporting each other gives life a meaning. This is why I became a care provider. 3 years as a live in care giver has equipped with knowledge of dealing with challenges faced by elderly people and those with needs within our community which require a helping hand. I have worked in care giving for 3 years. My dad and my grandmother were both care givers. They inspired me to become a caregiver. I believe this is my passion. I have a hearing disability which I have hearing aids for. This does not affect my ability to provide care. I enjoy being able to help people be as independent as possible.

I have been doing caregiving for quiet some time now and I have come to realize working with the elderly is really where I'm most happy working. I get along great with them , I enjoy there company and there wisdom they have and the many stories they share from the past. They all make me want to be a better caregiver everyday. It's been very rewarding and I'm proud of the caregiver I've become. I'm very caring very reliable and I'm laid back, I like to joke around with them , love seeing the smiles on there faces. I enjoy getting them all cleaned up and dressed for the day looking very nice. I also love it when they remember me and thank me for doing a good job . It reminds me why I do what I do. Caregiving is not for the weak. I do it because I can and because I love taking care of these people. They have all held a special place in my heart.
