I have had a lifelong love for taking care of seniors since I was 12 years old. I volunteered at my hometown nursing home. I now have 8 years of professional experience providing care for seniors.

Living with people and supporting each other gives life a meaning. This is why I became a care provider. 3 years as a live in care giver has equipped with knowledge of dealing with challenges faced by elderly people and those with needs within our community which require a helping hand. Simple achievements like understanding a person at a certain age or condition can not hold a big glass and drink enough water comfortably or during the pandemic while family members could not visit their loved ones setting up video calls and guiding them how to communicate with new technology brings joy and satisfaction to all. Although it started as a job now it's a way of life being that shoulder to lean on.

I'd describe my personality as energetic, helpful, and activity oriented. I started working with kids when I was a teenager, I was a cabin leader at the summer camp I'd grown up going to. In my spare time, I like to use my kayak and bake all sorts of goodies. One thing you should know about me is that I'm a mover, if there's an activity or something to go do then I'd much rather do that then screens.

I enjoy our daily routine and the opportunity to engage and be a part of her as well as her families daily lives. I became a caregiver when my friend asked me to assist with her mother after she moved in. Where we were once friends, we are now family. My client loves the fact that in the 19 months I have been her caregiver, I have never been late, but am ALWAYS early. That is something she loves about me. I have been doing caregiving for quiet some time now and I have come to realize working with the elderly is really where I'm most happy working. I get along great with them , I enjoy there company and there wisdom they have and the many stories they share from the past. They all make me want to be a better caregiver everyday. It's been very rewarding and I'm proud of the caregiver I've become. I'm very caring very reliable and I'm laid back, I like to joke around with them , love seeing the smiles on there faces. I enjoy getting them all cleaned up and dressed for the day looking very nice. I also love it when they remember me and thank me for doing a good job . It reminds me why I do what I do.
