Hi, I'm Ronald Porter, I'm 26 yrs old, I've worked as a direct care staff/caregiver for about 4/5 years, I'm also CPR/AED Certified. I love being a caregiver, I love getting to know and hearing the stories of everyone that I take care of. I also enjoy making their day, I really believe that this is my calling. My name is Alexis Glenn. I am very passionate about things that I do and people around me. I became interested in being a caregiver after my grandmother became sick and I started to care for her. I felt that since she did so much for me, making her comfortable & her day to day needs easier was the least I could do for her. I am enthusiastic and enjoy working with the elderly. I am a loyal and faithful companion. I was first attracted to caring for the elderly through my grandmother who simply needed someone to understand. I have taken care of my grandmother my mother and many elderly since then. What I enjoy most about caring for the elderly his to give them a reason to smile, laugh and be happy in their own environment and being their own selves. Some of my personal achievements that I am extremely proud of was a dementia patient who no longer enjoyed painting and with my enthusiastic caring she started painting again. Another elderly lady with Alzheimer's who had forgotten that she loved the outdoors and to walk for exercise. We started sitting on her front porch enjoying the birds and butterfly's and walking down the road for exercise. She even challenged me to a race, LOL. Then another was afraid to take the escalator, she was afraid she would fall. With no other way out, I helped her walk right onto it with no trouble. There was a gentleman that had not fed himself in many years, with my encouragement he was eating by himself again with no assistance. These are just a few of the accomplishments with the elderly that I am thankful that I was able to Help with and Witness.

I'm a kind, caring person. Likes taking care of the elderly and disabled. As a home health aide I do for the clients what they can't do for themselves. Will keep all information about my clients confidential. I always treat others like I want to be treated,with respect and dignity.

Because I'm into the person not only into my work, I really love being creative meaning always finding was to use arts ,crafts, puzzles plus I'm alert concerning the needs of the person I'm a great listener I always remember this saying treat people the way you would like to be treated and it will come back to you. I enjoy having conversation with different people because I'm very teachable plus I've been told I'm the best caregiver the company had this isn't just a job for me its relationships being build with the individuals that I meet I haven't met a client that was dissatisfied with my work yet and I've been doing this for while and I love it. Yes you have challenging clients but the first this I would say is that I'm sorry that your feeling this way today what can we do to make this a better day and if this doesn't work I'll get a book of there choice or a puzzle I will try all I know to get though until something work I'm a person that study peoples action, body language and moods so I will know when something isn't right things I've achieved is knowing that I give my all in taking care of a life that is entrusted in my hands and I don't take that for granted you never know someone might have to take care of me. In closing I will always be the best at what I do and that's giving the best care to the client that they need.

What attracted me to become a caregiver is because there are some people that do not have family and they often become sad and give up on life. My personality traits- I'm outgoing I love to communicate I love doing Exciting activities with my clients. My mom was a HHA when I was a little girl the client that she had didn't mind for me to be there with her so everyday after school I was there with her watching her and the client I loved it I love taking care of people it really warms my heart so I've been attracted to it ever since . I enjoy the most is when I go out and spend quality tine with the client . My personal achievement im proud of is growing up doing the same job my mother did .
