Being a caregiver is one of most rewarding things a person can do. The smile on their faces is over whelming and makes me feel I have done my job right. Seeing a smile of appreciation over just a small deed that I do. I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping others in there time of need. Being a caregiver gives me the opportunity to meet wonderful people. I take my work very seriously. I always like taking care of other people. I like helping them do thing they use to do by themselves but now become difficult to do along, cleaning, groceries shopping, doctor appointments, etc. Also I like hearing the stories of their lives and giving them comfort. I take care for everything and anything they need. I have been there unconditionally with every person I had work with and they have become like family. I'm a person who is devoted to her job. I raise 2 children, a girl and a boy, and now I live along . For almost 7 years I was the main caregiver to 89 year old lady who passed away. The last four years I took care for a lady with Alzheimer's. I have been caring for older people for 17 years and still enjoying doing so. I'm bilingual English and Spanish. I became a caregiver around 1979, always felt needed wanting to help the elderly people of all kinds. I enjoy being around people when it comes to helping the sick. I will be their for them if needed. You have to be patient understanding caring know their needs and provide lots of TLC. I took care of a elderly for 14 years, she was in a wheel chair when I met her. also a heavy drinker. Within that 14years of my caring for her I was able to help her family and the client to make a decision for the client to under go knee surgery. She was able to walk for 6 years which was joyful time for her. Few more years after that she was able to give up drinking with a little of my help. I was very happy to see this achievement. The family was proud to see this accomplishment and thank me for my assistance. This made me feel so happy and wonderful that I was able to be their for them. I am a understanding and caring person when I can help someone that needs my services I will be their. I also enjoy traveling being around my grandchildren, love my church, I love to keep up with my landscape, enjoy exercising, and focus on my health.
I'm a happy person. I learned how be a caregiver when my mom had a stroke and I was laid off my job Express Scripts for 27 years as a Registered Pharmacy Technician. I started working in a adult living facility 5 yrs and I've been doing it every since. I love it. Sometimes it can be a challenge. I've taking care of all ages oldest client was 91yrs . They had Alzheimer's and dementia. I give bath, clean house, prepare food, wash clothes medication reminder, what ever the client needs done I'm flexible. I live in Tampa. I graduated from High School and a college degree. I have 2 sons and happily married for 28 year. So I can say I'm truly blessed.
