I graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1986. Prior to school nursing I worked in both Newborn and Pediatric Intensive Care. In 1994 I became one of four School Nurse Consultants in Douglas County School District until the birth of my third child. After spending several years at home full time, and adding one more child to our family, I returned to DCSD as a School Nurse in 2008 when our youngest entered first grade. In 2010 I earned my Master's Degree in Health Services and Wellness Promotion. I love hiking, skiing, wellness, and most of all spending time with my husband and kids.

My personality traits are caring, I'm very compassionate and love making people feel comfortable. What attracted me to be a caregiver was my grandma and my passion for taking care of people. My grandma was my best friend and she was the best nurse around. The smiles you see on your clients faces are the absolute best. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is caring for the person. I really love knowing that I take care of the person fully and that makes me happy. My personal achievement is following my goals a passion.

What I enjoy the most about caregiving is helping others I've always loved helping those who cannot help themselves . A personal achievement that I'm proud of is helping my auntie who recently passed away due to cancer I've always helped her bathe n prep meals then I learned a new skill which was cleaning her feeding tube that was a proud moment for me . My personality is caring and helpful of others I'm a skilled person who catch on to learning new things fast . Treating people respectful with welcoming arms . My auntie who passed made me really want to get in the field with helping others as a caregiver because all I did was help her from bed to around the house . Getting the bond with people is a great thing and to get to know others as well as helping others is a thing I look forward to doing .

I spent 11 years in the military in which I was honorably discharged at the end of 2012. I completed and received an associate degree in art while serving. I continued my education while being unemployed from the time I was released from the military until April of 2013 and earned a bachelor degree in psychology. A week later I began practical nursing school and graduated top of my class a year later and was rewarded the leadership award. I passed my state board and earned my Practical Nursing license with an IV certification. I have since worked as an admission nurse, hospice nurse, agency nurse, floor nurse, managed a long term care facility, and was a day shift manager as well as a day shift unit supervisor. I recently completed my associate's degree in science in nursing and am waiting to sit for boards for my registered nursing license. I am looking to slowly transition from the facility setting into private duty helping people in their home setting.

I enjoy people and find it personally rewarding to help someone that is in need. I like being in a one on one position so I can give individualized attention to who I am caring for. I am a caring and compassionate person , who takes pride in being honest and showing integrity in all areas of my life. I look forward to meeting and helping anyone I am able too.
