The thing that makes me a great Caregiver is : I love caring for people who need my help ! I'm a CNA , and have worked in a Nursing Home , Private Group Homes , and done Private In Home Healthcare for the elderly . I even took care of my own Mother in my home for several years , seeing to her meds , personal hygiene , meals etc... I took care of her until she was almost 88 years old , became extremely ill , was put on Hospice , and she passed away in my home , with me present ! I basically love people , and find caring for those that need the help of a CNA , very rewarding . A little history about me : I was a stay at home Mom for 20+ years , and raised 5 beautiful children . They are all grown now , and very successful ! All my patients loved me because they knew I really cared about them , and their families !

Hello! I have been a CNA for three years, and I have been caregiving for a total of four years. I'm very passionate about my work; I have experience in everything from caring for the elderly to psychiatric care for children and adults. I always see to my patient's needs, and I try to make them as comfortable as possible with me. I love to play games with my clients, and with some of my older folks I read to them as well!

What makes me a great caregiver is that I have patience and the love for people that I can help their days be little brighter. What attracted me to being a caregiver is when my mom had cancer and I had to take care of her. After that I wanted to help others that needed me. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is that I can get to know the individual and become closer with them as we work together. The personal achievement that I'm most proud of was that after my divorce in 1991, I was able to take care of my kids and build myself a better life.
I have been a Certified Dementia Practitioner since 2014. I have extensive experience with Special Needs and Seniors (since 1987.) I have had been lucky enough to work with the elderly since (1987.) I started assisting people at a job for the State of Michigan as a certified CNA in 1990. Using this certification to work in a group home with 6 Special Needs Seniors for 5 years. I have always worked as a caregiver of some kind. In 1995 I switched gears to work as a live in caregiver for a disabled young lady with Cerebral Palsy. In 1997 I moved to Texas and started working with clients at a Assisted Living facility. I was responsible for preparing meals, ADLS, (personal care), Running errands, Performing light housekeeping, Med Pass, Companionship, Encourage Daily Health & amp; Wellness, Social programs, Bathing, Eating, Bathroom facilities, Dressing, Walking and ROM. I am now a Certified Activity Director & love spending time with Seniors.
I have always had a passion for the elderly. It's actually carried over through my grown kids because my husband shares this passion with me and we instilled that passion in our kids as they grew up. I have spent the last 8 yrs of my life taking care of my grandmother, whom had dementia. Also caring for my father who was a dialysis and wound care patient. Now that they both are gone I am ready to give my time, love and skills to someone else's loved one that needs care and companionship. I am available Monday thru Friday from 8am till 4 pm!
