Raising 3 daughter's of my own and now raising my 4th daughter for the last 12 years taking care of my grandmother, grandfather, my dad while living with me and my aunt while living with me gave me such pleasure to be able to be there for them when they needed me most always have had that passion to take care of anyone that needs me.

In me doing this I can help make sure they have a better quality way of life and they can enjoy it without the hassle of not being able to miss anything that they need. I majored in Social Work and have had a wonderful 27 year career of working with children, adolescents and the aging. I have worked at UVA hospital where I gained insight into the importance of maintaining good health and how devastating a disease or accident is on one's health and life. I have worked for department of social services and assisted the aging with receiving the services needed to remain in their home or to move into a facility. At this time, I am doing "hands on" care in people's home to assist them with various activities of daily living. My mother was bedridden for many years and I was one of her primary caregivers. I know the burden on family when caring for a loved one and the importance of support. My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.

I have been a CNA for 16 yrs giving care to patients with different needs I am honest, trustworthy, and compassionate. I love to take care of people who need help/support. I'm Caring, Compassionate, and Hard working. I became a caregiver when my Grand mother became ill. I wanted to give her the same care she gave us when my parents split. I always try to give a 110% and would do whatever it takes to make the clients feel as normal as possible. I've been a caregiver for over 20 years. I am 54 years old and will be married for 18 years on May 26th. I am mother of 2 boys and 1 girl. I have two grandchildren; one boy whose 4 years old and a granddaughter who is 3 years old. I've work most of my life in the office environment since graduating high school. I recently transitioned to caregiving for seniors a couple of years ago and I love it. I love working with seniors because they have so much insight on this journey called life. I've learned so much about patience and kindness from them. I've also learned how important it is to listen. They're just really cool individuals who wants love and affection. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day a little better. I hope that when I get older, someone like myself will be there to help me if I need help.
