Hi! My name is Katherine, but you can call me Kat or Katie if you prefer! I've been doing caregiving/ hospice care for more than 5 years. I love being able to provide an atmosphere of hospitality and becoming close with the people I take care of. I started doing this profession when my sister was dying of cancer, I took care of her every day during her final days. What I loved about doing that, is feeling needed. She relied on me for everything, to be her comfort, to wash her hair, to make her laugh and smile. From sharing childhood memories and jokes, I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life after she passed and I did! I am so glad you have chosen me to care for yourself or a loved one. I promise to always make them feel special and meet every expectation they need.

I have really good communication skills and I'm really good at being patience with elders. I have a lot experience working in the PCA and CNA field, I've been in it for over two years about three years now. I really just enjoy getting to know elder people and getting really close to know and having a good connection with them. One achievement I'm very proud of is getting into the health field, I really enjoy my job taking care of people ! I have fun times, & it's never a bad day with my residents.

I'm a great caregiver because I am very patient and a warm-hearted person, I always make sure my patient/resident is safe and that they are happy with their service. I started working as a caregiver really young at 15 with my great grandmother she was a diabetic and had Alzheimer's. After she passed away it made me realize that I loved my job and that I'd be a great caregiver. One of my personal biggest achievements was moving out of my parents house right after graduation into my own place.

I am a very organized and time oriented person. I care about my work and love what I do. It always been in my heart to help people especially the elderly. I love talking to the people I care for and hearing their stories and what they were like as teenagers. I believe my great work ethic and big heart makes me the perfect caregiver. I want to work as a caregiver for the elderly because I feel since they raised us and took care of us, we need to repay the favor when they are no longer able to do for themselves.

I'm very much a people person & highly empathetic. I knew I wanted to be a caretaker/Nurse since high school working as a volunteer in local hospital. I come from a family of caretakers so it's in my genetics. I've done many aspects of caregiving from rooming patients in local clinic to skilled unit in nursing facility & Alzheimer's unit. I love geriatric care due to the respect I have for the elderly. They've earned it for surviving through hardships I've only read about & learned in history class, which brings me to the fact that they have the best stories to tell if able to. I take pride in my care & the bigger the challenge it is with not so happy clients/patients I manage to get them to open up a bit & do my best to turn there frown upside down raising there spirits up.
