What makes me a great caregiver is ,me being reliable including arriving for work on time and fulfilling all duties in a timely manner.Respecting my patients privacy and dignity .Exhibiting a positive demeanor and kind tone of voice .Being considerate and kind when working with my patient. I enjoy being able to be compassion and being able to communicate with them .And being there for them so they dont feel lonely as well ..

I went to CNA school @ 53 with the desire to work with seniors with dementia . Worked the last 2 years doing just that .

I have wonderful customer service skills love to interact with my older adults I love my job.

Hello I'm Phantashia Shine, I'm a loving, outgoing, bubble personality, I love what I do and that's taking care of a family love one like my own, I've been a caregiver over 15 years and then got certified so that I am able to give the care that is needed not only the right way but the correct way by taking courses to keep up with my caregiver skills. As a caregiver I try to put myself and every situation as my own so that I can take the time to not only understand how the family member feels but also my patients, Sometimes it's not an easy task taking on someone new and not knowing the person, I try my best to understand everything and every situation. What I enjoy most is being able to show the unconditional love that I have to give.

I became a caregiver because of a family member who became very ill. I became his caretaker and enjoyed taking care of him even though it was a difficult time for me. He was very comfortable with the care that was provided and it was something I knew I wanted to do from that time on. What I like most about being a Caregiver is I like to see that a patient/client is being well cared for and that I am making that happen for them. I like to see the satisfaction on their faces knowing I have done a job well done. A personal achievement I am proud of is that every patient/client that I have worked with, providing care for, was very pleased with my work and they have expressed it with words of appreciation themselves and with my supervisors. I am a person who takes my job seriously and I like to be proficient in my work. I have been in the Healthcare field for 15 plus years and am very skilled in it. I like to get the job done right the first time. I can also be humorous with the patient/client when it is appropriate to make their day a little brighter. I really enjoy working with them.

I am 39 years old, active and healthy. I worked for army for 2 years and am honorably discharged. I have worked for Sears and JC penny as an associate for a few years till . In the last 7 years, I was a live-in nanny for a child from 2 months old till he turned 6 years. During that time, I realized how much I loved taking care of others. I still do babysitting for a 4 year old. I live with my parents since Jan 2005 onwards and help them with housekeeping, grocery shopping and cooking. I am a good driver and never had an accident. I realized I could help elders for their needs like transportation, Meal prep, Groceries and shopping, Housekeeping, Companionship, medical reminders etc.

I am one of the most empathetic caregivers you will meet. I first became a caregiver in 2002 as an STNA with extensive training. I enjoy being able to help with ADLs , but still allowing the client/resident/patient to be as independent as possible. I enjoy helping to increase client's/resident's/patient's will to live. I will/have alway respect the client's/resident's/patient's rights and adhere to all HIPPA laws. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of is the time I changed a resident's entire temperament towards the staff by simply showing him that I actually care. He was a combative dementia patient. Being a hair stylist, I would cut his hair and line him up. The constant compliments received from the staff and residents boosted his confidence and definitely increased his will to live. Although, that was many years ago the thought of it still warms my heart.

During my daily job duties i'm mainly observing my clients for any changes in physical, emotional, mental or behavioral condition & injuries. I'm also maintaining clean, well, organized, environments for clients happiness & safety as well as providing love & companionship :)
