I chose to become a care giver from passed experience rendering cares for my disabled father who needed around the clock assistance. I am also mother who pays every attention to care giving. I love to render assistance to humanity. What I like about care giving is the fact Ithat I can show love through care giving. I can bring smiles and hopes in the lives of my clients and their families. I can bring calm and laughter in a therapeutic manner to quell my patients anxieties. One of my proudest achievement was during my last assignment working with a five old child who was diagnosed with down syndrome ,with feeding tube. This child had all the complications you could imagine. He was constantly removing his tube, could not eat solid food nor ingest anything by mouth. I personally took on the challenge to care for this child. Within six months, this child started to ingest some form of solid food. By eleven month, this child was completely wean off of Gtube feedings. The entire ordeal was difficult and time consuming, but I was very proud of our achievement. Not only is nursing my career, but it's my passion. With almost 10 years of care giving experience, helping my clients back to good health and making a difference in their live is motivation for me to continue on this path. I am currently an LPN in school to become an RN with ambitions of one day soon opening a healthcare facility. I have home health experience as well as hospice experience. The last three years I have worked in a nursing home and I absolutely love seeing the smiles on the residents' face each morning/evening I arrive and leave. I assisted in taking care of my grandmother at home before she passed away and I am currently doing the same for my grandfather. With that being said, I find myself able to put myself in the position of my clients' family members and provide the support and comfort they may need as well.

Born to older parents, exposed to illness, my parents didn't believe that this should be hidden from me. It would be better to be exposed in order to be prepared for life. Parents were German immigrants, and went through the second world war. One of the earliest experiences that I can remember is my dad relapsing from malaria. I applied cold compresses, and served him liquids, as the doctor told me to. My mom was ill, and cared for her until she died at age 46.I was 12. At 17, I was hired by Kimberly Quality Care as a home health aide. My client suffered a traumatic brain injury, and I learned so much from his family and the research I did on the subject. This led me to nursing school, and here it is, so many years later, and I am still learning more. Science and medicine are my passion, and that will never change. The advances made daily basis are not just amazing, but confounding. The scientific community is one I'm proud to be a part of. The best thing that I have ever done was in South Carolina, on the 3-11 shift. In order to save a life, I bypassed facility protocol, and I called rescue to send a patient to the hospital STAT. The staff was shocked, and told me that I would be fired. I was ready to lose my license, if that would just save that life. Long story short, the MD, who was also the medical director, treated this patient. He came in the following shift to let me know that the person survived, and if I had hesitated, that would not have been the case. I receiv
