With my experience in health care I've grown to be very patient and understanding with clients and ive learned that with anger and frustration it can only make the situation worse. My mother and I wasn't ever really close until about two years ago when she was diagnosed with cancer, and those two years we came together and I'm so grateful for the time we had together while we could. She unfortunately passed away april of this year and it's been hard for me but coming back into the home health service I think will be a way of me carrying on for her to help others like she helped me.

My name is Dot, I am a great caregiver because I will care for my clients as though they were my family! I have been a certified nurses aid since July 23, 1993. Since then l have gotten my Medication aid certificate. I got into this field of work because I desided if I had to make a paycheck I was going to do help people in need to. Hi, my name is Angela and I am passionate about making people happy and comfortable! I became a caregiver because, I feel that every person was created for a purpose! I like connecting with other people and their life journey. My greatest accomplishment was when I was teaching Special Education for high school students that have learning disabilities. I had one student that was very limited with speech and at the age of 16, he didn't know how to brush his teach or spit out the toothpaste, so for a solid school year, everyday I would take him into the classroom bathroom and teach him how to brush his teeth and spit in the sink.....happy to say after one full school year this young man knows how to brush his teeth and spit in the sink. It really comes down to choice, do we as human beings want to add encouragement, positivity, compassion, and laughter to someone in need or do you choose to be negative, judging and critical I choose to add compassion and laughter. I'm a vey organized person, and I believe in leading by example.

I am currently in nursing school pursing my LVN license and will proceed to get my RN. I graduate in December 2019. I have been a caregiver since 2010. I enjoy caring for people that need the extra help.

I thirst volunteered at safe care helping being a caregiver then when I turned 18 they decided to hire me I worked there for two years with six clients doing meal preparation, medication reminder exercises, outings and bathing. Then I moved to Whitney and started working with Divine Living assistance going to peoples houses and taking care of them also doing meal preparation , medication reminder, exercising, outings and bathing! I absolutely love what I do I love taking care of someone that can't take care of themselves and makes me feel good about myself and I feel like I'm giving back. I couldn't ask for a better life and I couldn't ask for a better job I'm very upbeat, kind, caring and funny.
