I have been working as a Licensed CNA over 20+ yrs , when taking care of my residence i look at them as my family member, meaning i would give them good quality care show them love and respect with dignity, what attracted me to being a caregiver i have watched my family member with dementia and my aunt needed a break because it can become overwhelming at times. Empathy and compassion is what makes me a great caregiver. I started off at 16 years old taking care of my grandpa. Making sure he take his medicine, bath, and read him versus out of his bible. As I got older I knew this is what I wanted to do I want to help the elderly patients that can no longer do much for themselves. It's essential that a caregiver feel the desire to want to help. By showing both empathy and compassion, caregivers will let the person know that they care about them and want to do what they can to help and that's what keeps me consistent. I love to keep clients smiling and talking. I received my CNA license and went to school to study for my degree in Medical Administration Assistant of Applied Science. But somehow I just went back to CNA doing what I really love for 10 years and counting. Also have my BLS license through American Heart Association

As a highly competent caregiver companion, I bring a service- focused and hardworking attitude to this role. I maintain an efficient and organized work mentality as I assist in the care of several geriatric and chronically ill patients. I have an instinct for problem solving and work well independently and with little oversight. I am compassionate, outgoing, resourceful, and believe that trust and honesty are key when in a caregivers role. I was attracted to care giving due to my need of wanting to help people. What I enjoy the most is building a bond and being apart of the recovery process. My biggest achievement in care giving was being able to help my mom over a period of two years recover from her Ru in y Gastric bypass surgery. Prior to her surgery she had diabetes and kidney disease for 3 years and didn't think she would make it to the age of 40. After her surgery I was apart of the recovery process and seeing her healthy and free of diabetes and kidney disease has been the best experience and biggest accomplishment in my life. Therefore I want to continue and help others because its what I truly love to do.
