Iam a very loving, kind,caring person i have been taking care of the elderly for 30+ year's, started out working in rest home as a cna I loved my job just didn't have enough time with all off my patients so I went into private care i love talking with the elderly and listen to there story's i just love what I do .

Hi, I'm Shelby! I started out 4 years ago, fixing to start nursing school and wanting experience before I started my journey. So I became a CNA! And I love it. I love caring for my patients and growing bonds with them. I plan on becoming either a Oncology nurse or a NICU nurse to help people or babies in need. Since I was a little girl, I've always been playing nurse and giving all of my babies check ups! I've spent a lot of time in busy hospitals working in the ICU, oncology floor, psych floor, ED, and physical therapy floors. I also LOVE home health care! I feel like I truly get to bond with my patients.

Enjoy caring for the elderly. Very active with patient if they are mobile and able to be taken out. I've had patients I've taken to the movies, walking trails, lake, gone boating, shopping, out to eat, and basically get them out of the house to enjoy their day. If they are home bound I've baked with them some of their own recipes they may have. Because I love to bake from scratch. Cook, clean, and just spend time with them. I feel some don't have long why not make their last days good.

I feel worthwhile and that I am making a difference.Before I started college I worked in daycare.I received a lot of joy helping the children to overcome obstacles. I graduated from the University of Texas and received my BSN. I worked at St. Lukes in the ICU's. I took care of clients with all kinds of problems.I also worked on the transplant unit at ST. Luke's. I transferred to M,D. Anderson Hospital where I was the evening charge nurse. Our clients had a variety of cancers.After 18 months I transferred to a private oncology office. I dealt with newly diagnosed patients.I taught them about their disease, I mixed and administered chemotherapy. The doctors I worked for were also hematologist. We treated a number of AIDS patients.I worked extensively with the families.When the patients disease was no longer treatable I Placed them on Hospice.My children were young and I decided to stay home with them. I eventually went back to school and became a Texas Certified teacher. I was certified to teach grades 4-8th and special education. I taught in public schools and started tutoring privately. I then started to take care of clients that needed my help physically.

I'm outgoing and have a good personality. Have a good sense of Humor, always have smile and friendly face, easy to talk to and like to speak all sort's of topics. Il be a good fit to any health care profession because i been in his industry for 15 year's of experience and license.

Well it started like this. I was the youngest out of eight siblings. And father always relied on come back to help out in the house is in my 20s. I've always helped out with my father as he got ill. And from there on I just continue to stay with caregiving the reason I like helping when they need help residence. I like the warm and caring but I get back from residence.
