I am personable and enjoy being a home care provider. I became a caregiver because I wanted to help others by assisting them with their activities of daily living. I enjoyed caring for many seniors over the years and learned quite a lot from them. I believe I'm a great caregiver because I have had extensive training in a skilled nursing facility as well as in many private homes. I also enjoy seeing the difference that I often make in people's lives. I became a nursing assistant back in 1982 and acquired my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license at the convalescent hospital where I worked. I then went on to work for several home care agencies and acquired my Certified Home HeaIth Aide (CHHA) license. I have worked as an independent contractor caregiver for years. I am willing to commute for full-time employment. I have great references and will be happy to submit them upon request.

I have had my CNA license for 6 years, and I did home health for 10 years, with a few extra training courses including, Dementia & Alzheimer's training, wound care, medicine and 1 year internship for Mortuary School. I am a quick learner and follow instructions given. I keep a daily log of all events, meds given, and give full daily reports when requested. I am aware of all HIPPA laws and abide by them. I am reachable at all times on or off the work schedule provided. I am willing to work extra hours/shifts in all situations. I realized I fell in love with caregiving when going to work was less of work feeling and more of a it makes me happy feeling. I love my job because of my residents. They are what make it worth while for me. The type of serotonin I get from it makes for an amazing caregiving as myself. The bond I have held and compassion for my residents is on another level. They are my pride and joy and I love them so much. I have so much compassion in what I do and I am proud of what I do. That is what makes a good caregiver. I am patient with them and I try and understand their needs and wants. You need to have empathy as I have for them. I enjoy spending time with my residents but what I love most is seeing them heal. As I am also in a rehabilitation center, I strive to make them healthier and visually seeing that they are getting better makes me feel so happy.
