I have always enjoyed helping others and the elderly have a special place in my heart as I was raised to respect others and shared precious moments with my grandparents that I cherish still today. What I find in serving others is that I get an opportunity to learn as well. I am a good listener, client centered with compassion. Empathy is embedded in my personality. Being an experienced caregiver I am familiar with the job and very much enjoy each day at work.
When I landed my first caregiver job I knew that being a caregiver was what I wanted to do in life. Seeing the joy I can bring to someone else's life by simply preparing a meal or something as simple as companion care truly brings fulfilment to my life. I believe compassion, patience, trustworthiness, and the determination to provide the best care possible makes me a great caregiver.

I believe caregiving is about the person in need and what they need to feel at ease whether at home or in a hospital. I am a natural caregiver and I am passionate about helping the elderly, or people who are ill and/or disabeled. Caregiving started with my elderly mother, she depended on me for over 15 years before she passed and it was the best and hardest times of our lives. She needed my help even though she was too proud and I was there for her with every illness, doctors appointment, and anything else she needed support with. Being a caregiver is very dear to my heart and has been a big achievement for me personally and through my work. I became a caregiver to be of service to others that need more help. I enjoy caregiving because I like the one on one bond you create with the client and help give them an easier, happier more productive lifestyle and keep as much independence as possible. A personal achievement that I am proud of is being able to help clients that have already passed on and knowing my service to them helped them have a happy and peaceful transition.
My biggest personality trait would be that I am a very happy person, my bubbly attitude attracts the attention of my clients and I take that job very seriously because I believe it can be infectious and an important part of their health. I am willing to take the extra mile to assure my clients safety and happiness. What attractede to become a caregiver is the one on one connection with peolple, versus having 7 to take care of at one time with little to no time to ensure they're taken care of emotionally. Having the time to focus on one and work with one comes with many disadvantages. What I enjoy the most about my job is being able to provide the care that my clients really need, to hear those "thank you's" from my clients and family, for making a difference in my clients life. A personal achievement of mine is the relationship I take time to build with my clients. Specifically dementia and Alzheimer's clients, I believe to have the patience and heart needed to care for these clients.
